(The number of legs and second tail doesn't register as important for him, as a Chaosian.) - Shiryu is not happy about the extra-special morganti knives, even on the other side of reality. - Ilk lures the kitten Hex into the neutronium box used for training by Gil and Calla. He seals the kitten in the box after it goes in. - It is discovered (how?) that the slug forest is actually a slug army, invading Chaos. Slowly. - Hamster Finndo and Eric advise Ilk on the invasion/infiltration. - Ilk researches the slug shadow, and discovers that there is a slug mage named Du'gua leading the invasion. Du'gua has slimed (traversed) the Spiral, and has a grudge against Silver Lyra apparent in some recent paperwork. - The invasion is measured, and the proper response is considered. It is felt that an appropriate response is necessary to maintain Chaos's reputation - so a still-drunk Janus is imported from Amber to fight off the slug invasion. - Jean informs the assassins-in-exile that the designs on the wall may in fact be a transportation system under the control of the enemy. - While trapped in a safe room in Gwen's lab (waiting for Querlon to dispose of the statues), Jean teaches Calla etiquette. Calla realizes that the reason Jean's sword grip disturbs her is because it was originally his table knife grip. Calla is horrified.
