Subject: Cagliostro's actions... X-Evolution-Source: imap://dkap@mailhost.haven.org/ Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit Message-Id: <1241188583.8438.23.camel@hedgehog.wardrobe.irobot.com> Mime-Version: 1.0 I realized late last night that I think Cagliostro's first reflexes would be different from mine (or perhaps I just remembered other resources. ;) Step 1 would be to reinforce the defenses - pulling in five demons to act as muscle and information conduits (possibly several of the same set that I pulled in to possibly deal with the Caliph earlier). Step 2 would be to see how long we were looking at holding this castle - if the answer is 'indefinitely', make arrangements (and pass along the appropriate code words) to get a chunk of guards and ninjas moved from Castle Cagliostro to Castle Yellowsky. (Make sure to warn the demons that this may, in fact, be a very dangerous assignment. Give them a chance to back out.) Tell the demons and the guards to obey Absalom or the advisor as they would me; make the jump that I can, in fact, trust 'em both. It would be too inefficient otherwise. Step 3 is to prep against the biggest threat, the prince. Share with the others: "The amulet that the Caliph wears is actually an imprisoned and powerful entity (of the same class that brought you to me)", he adds as an aside to Absalom. "If this entity is released, it will be quite upset with him. I know of no way to do this from a safe distance, but I will investigate. If either of you know anything about this..." Step 4 is more prep - pass the word along through the demon jar that I want someone who can remotely free a demon from this kind of imprisonment - and I'll make it worth their while. Step 5 is to run to the basement and start to poke around - in combination with the scholar demon and the wandering jew - and catalog the items. As soon as an item is identified and examined to be sure it isn't trapped, give it to someone to make use of. Cagliostro wants to disseminate the items back around so that they aren't all clumped up in one person's storage space anyway, so he'll have no problems handing them out as rewards. ------ Sam Gorton | Skaion Corporation sgorton@grey-havens.net | (781) 396-1095
