(07:53:27 PM) Cagliostro: i missed voting today. v. distracting.
(07:55:50 PM) Auricle [~chatzilla@pool-96-233-176-18.spfdma.east.verizon.net] entered the room.
(07:56:18 PM) Auricle: GReetings!
(07:56:33 PM) Cagliostro: ahoyhoyu
(07:56:37 PM) Cagliostro: er, s/u//

(07:56:57 PM) Cagliostro: ?
(07:57:04 PM) Auricle: um..yes. :)
(07:57:50 PM) Cagliostro: heh
(07:57:57 PM) dkap: Voting is important.
(07:58:20 PM) dkap: What time do the polls close? I'd happily wait for you to return.
(07:58:27 PM) Cagliostro: 7:00, i think.
(07:58:52 PM) dkap: Oh well.
(07:58:59 PM) Caelin [~arkhon@pool-72-93-81-101.bstnma.fios.verizon.net] entered the room.
(07:59:03 PM) Cagliostro: oh, 8:00.
(07:59:05 PM) Cagliostro: oh well again.
(07:59:06 PM) dkap: And it looks like we have game!
(07:59:18 PM) Caelin: Damn, I was LAST???
(07:59:22 PM) dkap: Yep.
(07:59:24 PM) dkap: *grin*
(08:01:27 PM) Auricle: I couldn't vote -- am registered independent
(08:01:36 PM) Caelin: *nod*
(08:01:42 PM) Caelin: It's just a state primary.
(08:02:05 PM) Cagliostro: i got a couple of calls from kerry's people
(08:02:10 PM) Cagliostro: but was busy with other stuff and kept forgetting.
(08:02:15 PM) dkap: Ahh ... I voted against him. As usual.
(08:02:23 PM) Caelin: Heh
(08:02:24 PM) dkap: Don't like the fellow much.
(08:02:44 PM) Cagliostro: the other guy kind of gave off a nutjob vibe.
(08:02:50 PM) Cagliostro: and it's just the primary. ;0
(08:02:56 PM) Caelin: I voted...I had forgotten until about 1:50PM, ran out and took care o fit.
(08:02:59 PM) Cagliostro: not that i was paying too much attention.
(08:03:02 PM) Caelin: Heh
(08:03:05 PM) Auricle: hee
(08:03:15 PM) Auricle: I'm pretty much done w/voting until November.
(08:03:50 PM) Caelin: I made sure I got in my absentee ballot application so there'd be no question.
(08:04:23 PM) dkap: Good good.
(08:04:52 PM) dkap: And Massachusetts is good about the Absentee Ballots, as opposed to Florida.
(08:04:58 PM) Caelin: or MD.
(08:05:22 PM) dkap: Indeed.
(08:08:06 PM) dkap: Right, then, when last we left our ... special friends, you were about to Gate to Kolvir.
(08:08:19 PM) Caelin: *sigh* Yes.
(08:08:31 PM) Auricle: yup
(08:08:36 PM) Caelin: Actually, I thought we *had* gated to Kolvir and hung there.
(08:09:10 PM) dkap: That's fine, as well.
(08:09:58 PM) dkap: Did you take Olim with you? Did you take the Deputy Mayor with you?
(08:10:43 PM) Auricle: Um...I believe...yes.
(08:10:45 PM) Caelin: From last game log: (23:38:02) dkap: Caelin opens the gate, people pile though it, one of the Jager tows Chef D. Pip looks to Auricle, and then goes through it, cart and all, leading the horse. Horse seems somewhat reluctant at first, but then goes through.
(08:11:10 PM) Cagliostro: there is at least one Jean left behind, looking for the man. the one that shot the reporter.
(08:11:11 PM) Auricle: I'm pretty sure I wanted Olim and Pip, and the Jagers just follow me, and one of them had the deputy mayor...
(08:11:38 PM) dkap: Right.
(08:13:05 PM) dkap: Chef D looks surprised, and asks what this marvelous thing is that he just went through, to the Jager towing him.
(08:13:08 PM) Auricle: Oh, yes, I wanted Olim because he wants to work for me and I plan to vivisect him.
(08:13:14 PM) dkap: The Jager directs him to Caelin.
(08:13:30 PM) dkap: So Chef D makes swimming motions trying to get to Caelin.
(08:14:13 PM) dkap: Pip thinks you own him, Olim is still uncertain about the whole job thing, but seems open to further negotiations.
(08:14:17 PM) ***Caelin looks at the Chef. "Ahh, right."
(08:14:32 PM) ***Auricle looks around at the state of the City Under Kolvir, which is it's official name in my head until Deirdre names it.
(08:14:34 PM) ***Caelin lowers the chef as gingerly as he can to the ground, feetfirst.
(08:15:31 PM) dkap: Chef D notices, and then perambulates over to Caelin, and asks him how such a marvelous piece of connection was concocted.
(08:15:46 PM) dkap: At first it sounds like confection, but ...
(08:16:15 PM) Caelin: "Connection? What connection?"
(08:17:06 PM) dkap: Chef D: "The one that had us there, and now we are here."
(08:17:18 PM) dkap: Auricle, everything seems similar to what was before.
(08:17:43 PM) Caelin: "Ahh, magic."
(08:18:18 PM) Auricle: GM: Any warnings on the gargoyle's systems, anything pinging as an alert, etc?
(08:18:27 PM) dkap: There are more buildings knocked down, in preparation for the palace to be built, but beyond that, no screaming, no running in panic.
(08:19:04 PM) dkap: Fewer people about than there were before, but that might be a side effect of the Jager doing urban renewal.
(08:19:29 PM) dkap: Can you make this magic be reachable-through, without needing to pass through?
(08:19:37 PM) dkap: Sorry, that was from Chef D to Caelin.
(08:20:14 PM) Caelin: "I'm not sure I understand what you mean..."
(08:20:24 PM) Caelin: "Pass through what?"
(08:20:30 PM) dkap: The Magic.
(08:20:37 PM) dkap: Chef D: "The Magic."
(08:20:55 PM) Auricle: Ooh, hey, we're right by the reflecting pool, have we got a pattern in it yet?
(08:21:13 PM) Caelin: "You wish to be able to travel through my magic without issue?"
(08:21:24 PM) Caelin: "or walk?"
(08:21:53 PM) dkap: Chef D: "To reach through. You see, it might solve the warehosing problem I have."
(08:22:12 PM) Caelin: "Oh, you want some sort of permanent gate?"
(08:22:34 PM) Caelin: (geez...I think I raised my OWN danger sense with that question)
(08:22:44 PM) Auricle: (ROFL)
(08:22:44 PM) dkap: Chef D: "So many ingredients need such a variety of conditions, that storing them near each other, while convenient for collecting, makes building the environments for them difficult."
(08:22:52 PM) Auricle: "PErmanent gate?"
(08:24:13 PM) Caelin: "Oh, so a gate to a refrgerator?"
(08:24:20 PM) dkap: Chef D: "If that's what it is called, then, yes. Several of them, to follow me around, on this end, and go to the right places on that end."
(08:24:52 PM) dkap: Chef D: "I think I can make due with only about ..." and starts scribbling in his notebook.
(08:25:30 PM) dkap: Chef D: " ... about ... 33 of them, although 48 would be nice, and 107 would cover all the standard situations."
(08:26:03 PM) dkap: Chef D: "Although, tiling the 107 might cover too much of my working space, so ... either 33 or 48."
(08:26:24 PM) Auricle: "Refridgerators or gates??"
(08:26:57 PM) ***Caelin "We can discuss this at length at some point. Also, I might appoint someone else who is equally capable, as my current set of issues might require I not participate."
(08:27:03 PM) dkap: Chef D: "Gates, to differing environments.
(08:27:30 PM) dkap: Chef D: "You mean, you aren't the only person who can do this marvelous Gate thingy?"
(08:27:56 PM) Caelin: "No, thankfully not."
(08:28:47 PM) dkap: Chef D: "Hmm ... that means it is a skill, which can be learned, I wonder if I could make some sort of kitchen equipment that could learn this particular skill ..."
(08:29:15 PM) Caelin: "There are ways of affixing such things to kitchen equipment, yes.
(08:29:15 PM) dkap: Auricle, a young man, identified by Gargoyle as one of the people working with Mr. Zorg, comes running up to you.
(08:29:31 PM) Auricle: "Why aren't you wondering if you could learn this skilll? er...Who, Gargoyle?
(08:29:38 PM) dkap: Chef D starts sketching in his pad.
(08:31:01 PM) dkap: Zorg Lacky: "Oh Great and All Powerful Auricle, Please, come quickly, there is ... disturbing circumstances!"
(08:31:16 PM) Auricle: "Who are you?"
(08:32:05 PM) dkap: Zorg Lacky: "I'm the person who brought in the food, when you were speaking with my employer Mr. Zorg."
(08:32:29 PM) dkap: Zorg Lacky: "There isn't much time, and lots of decisions to be made. Mr. Zorg is most worried."
(08:32:46 PM) Auricle: Gargoyle: Mr Zorg...is ...um....
(08:32:57 PM) ***Auricle is clearly lacking shapes.
(08:33:32 PM) dkap: Gargoyle: "The designer of your security arrangements for King Diedre's environment, and the further security of this city, and Kovlir.
(08:34:56 PM) dkap: Pip has sat down on the edge of the reflecting pool, with his now unshod feet in the water.
(08:35:00 PM) Auricle: "Oh! Right! Lead on!"
(08:35:33 PM) dkap: Zorg Lacky: "This way! Quickly!"
(08:35:47 PM) ***Auricle follows the Zorg lackey.
(08:35:55 PM) dkap: Jean, do you notice?
(08:36:01 PM) dkap: Caelin do you notice?
(08:36:06 PM) dkap: Chef D does not notice.
(08:36:22 PM) dkap: The Jager go with you, including the one carrying the Deputy Mayor.
(08:36:33 PM) ***Caelin notices, and frowns.
(08:36:37 PM) ***Cagliostro follows Auricle.
(08:37:08 PM) dkap: Olim has gotten ... distracted with trying to take some of the things from the urban renewal.
(08:37:32 PM) Cagliostro: ADD: it's not just for - oh, shiny!
(08:37:34 PM) dkap: And quietly discussing such with the local Jager, specifically to not attract attention.
(08:38:16 PM) dkap: Caelin, this might be the disturbance that caused Auricle to request the gate from you in the first place.
(08:38:55 PM) dkap: And the GM would like to note that it is just about a half-hour in, and we are managing to change locations already!
(08:39:42 PM) ***Caelin follows to the source of disturbance, wherever that is. He assumes Cagliostro knows, and follows.
(08:40:00 PM) Auricle: (Do I have Cagliostro or Jean or both?)
(08:40:18 PM) dkap: Jean.
(08:40:21 PM) Auricle: K
(08:40:43 PM) dkap: Cagliostro is busy trying to decant Caerlin.
(08:41:33 PM) Cagliostro is now known as Jean
(08:41:45 PM) ***Caelin ???
(08:41:48 PM) Jean: (Carolan)
(08:42:01 PM) ***Caelin lol
(08:42:54 PM) dkap: Right, however it is speled.
(08:43:11 PM) Auricle: so, following the lackey. hurrah, hurrah.
(08:44:36 PM) dkap: Said lacky leads you to the edge of the city, to overlook a second city, that looks similar to your city, but built more impressively, at first glance, and at second glance seems to be in flames in part, and have an army camped in front of it.
(08:45:54 PM) dkap: Zorg Lacky: "Well ... we built a second city, to test some of the defense arrangements, and ... some of them worked, One of them worked much better than expected, that being that the test city worked as a decoy, and when the invaders came to take your city, they just presumed the more impressive, and better defended one was the one that should be attacked first.
(08:46:26 PM) Jean: "Huh."
(08:46:35 PM) Auricle: "Well. Who'd have thought it?"
(08:46:55 PM) dkap: Zorg Lacky: "They have been attacking now for 3 days. Most of the Secret Tunnels are not yet breached, so we have been stockpiling food, and getting weapons supplies in and out, but ... we need some more guidance on what to do about the situation.
(08:47:29 PM) Auricle: "In the test city?"
(08:47:34 PM) Jean: "We could sacrifice them to Verra. Or figure out who they are and why they're attacking. Either way."
(08:47:44 PM) Auricle: "Or both. We could do both, I suppose."
(08:47:45 PM) dkap: Zorg Lacky: "Especially since the leader of the attackers seems to know your name Auricle, and keeps demanding his horse back, which we haven't figured out what that means yet."
(08:47:57 PM) ***Auricle looks at Jean.
(08:48:03 PM) Auricle: "I don't have his horse."
(08:48:06 PM) ***Caelin sighs.
(08:48:11 PM) Jean: "Oh! That guy."
(08:48:18 PM) Jean: "Hey, Caelin. Is Zorro free?"
(08:48:39 PM) Caelin: "I can check, but last I recall he was in the middle of a serious undertaking."
(08:48:44 PM) Auricle: "How many people are attacking?"
(08:48:57 PM) Caelin: "And I may need him again soon to defend my honor. Multiple times."
(08:48:58 PM) Jean: "This isn't too important, just a horse-oppressing jerk."
(08:49:01 PM) dkap: Gargoyle provides Auricle with the image of the fellow who followed you to the Island upon which you ... added Horse to your party.
(08:49:32 PM) dkap: It looks like a good-sized army, maybe 1500 maybe 1800, it's hard to get an exact number.
(08:51:06 PM) ***Auricle is trying hard to not giggle that they attacked what is, for all intents and purposes, a lab experiment instead of the city.
(08:51:41 PM) dkap: Well ... you do remember that he wasn't too bright, to begin with.
(08:51:51 PM) Jean: (that does sound like something Zorg should incorporate into his design)
(08:52:27 PM) dkap: He did, he just didn't expect it to be used, before he finished testing it. *grin*
(08:52:34 PM) Auricle: "How are we holding up?"
(08:53:26 PM) Auricle: "I mean, is the bad guy gonna overrun us soon? Do we have a few days? hours? Has he asked for surrender? Or is he just dithering on about his horse?"
(08:53:46 PM) dkap: Zorg Lacky: "Well ... we are fighting an entirely defensive fight at the moment, and there has been property damage, but little loss of life. The Jager seem very good at not getting killed, and they make up all of the "residents" in the test-lab."
(08:53:55 PM) Jean: gm: I will consult with Horse to see if he has any icky feelings.
(08:53:58 PM) ***Auricle looks at Caelin and Jean. "Do we know anything about parlays? that don't involve getting shot at?"
(08:54:19 PM) dkap: Horse has been having icky feelings about just about _everyone_ here.
(08:54:23 PM) Jean: "They don't tend to work with idiots."
(08:54:29 PM) Jean: gm: reassure horse.
(08:55:04 PM) dkap: Zorg Lacky: "When you arrived, he had just about breached the second gate, so I was dispatched to you, to get guidance and advice."
(08:55:09 PM) ***Caelin sighs long and hard. "Exactly how invested are we in this?"
(08:56:07 PM) Auricle: "Well, that's the test City for the improvements and defenses we planned to put into place here."
(08:56:13 PM) ***Auricle gestures at the burning city.
(08:57:04 PM) Auricle: "The guy leading the army is..." brief moment of rechecking fact w/gargoyle "is a guy who chased us through a hellride through Shadow on that horse" points at the Horse "and when we bested him, we kept the horse, because...I dunno, it followed Jean."
(08:57:09 PM) dkap: Zorg Lacky, a bit embarassed: "Some of the fires are actually caused by test weapons not working like expected, unfortunately."
(08:57:31 PM) Auricle: Lackey: "Oh, don't worry, that's all part of research."
(08:57:53 PM) dkap: Zorg Lacky: "Thank you, that is important intelligence. Shall I take you folks into the city to meet with Zorg?"
(08:58:22 PM) Auricle: "And now I'm wondering if he -- the bad horse guy -- set up that promonotary to distract me while he sacked...Deirdre's city."
(08:58:32 PM) Auricle: "Or rather, Deirdre's Test City."
(08:58:33 PM) Caelin: "Wait...not the same group from which we plucked the guy who had my apprentice imprisoned in that?(motions to the locket-thing holding Carolan)?
(08:58:38 PM) dkap: Zorg Lacky: "Well yes, it's why we were working them in the test city. Did you know that Jager have an amazing propensity to cause things to malfunction in an explosive manner?"
(08:59:00 PM) Auricle: "Er, that was Olim, wasn't...where's Olim? And Pip?"
(08:59:13 PM) dkap: Pip is with you, with his cart. Olim is nowhere in sight.
(08:59:29 PM) Auricle: "Hey, Jager, go find me Olim."
(08:59:42 PM) Auricle: "Oh, and the Chef."
(08:59:49 PM) Auricle: (I meant Chef, not Olim.)
(09:00:19 PM) dkap: There is a quick game of rock, paper, scissors, and two of the Jager go off.
(09:01:36 PM) dkap: There is a whumping noise from the city, and a war-scream from a bunch of Jager, who apparently launched themselves, with the bundle of burning crockery at the enemy at the gates.
(09:02:39 PM) Auricle: "Once the Jager get back with Olim and Chef we can go."
(09:03:40 PM) Auricle: "And do we know the former-owner-of-Jean's-horse's name? Anyone?"
(09:04:03 PM) Jean: gm: does the Horse have a public signifier for its former rider?
(09:04:40 PM) dkap: Rider.
(09:05:26 PM) Jean: "Ex-Rider."
(09:06:15 PM) Auricle: "Ex-Rider. Kay."
(09:09:08 PM) dkap: One of the two Jager come back, with Chef D, still scribbling away madly in his notebook.
(09:10:35 PM) Auricle: "Jean? Are we returning the horse to it's rider? I don't actually know why it's here except it followed you."
(09:10:45 PM) Auricle: "Well, and that the rider was annoying."
(09:11:05 PM) Jean: "We're freeing the horse. It's unalive, and a person, and it was a slave to that jerk."
(09:11:16 PM) Jean: "Once the horse is free, it can decide to go back or not."
(09:12:48 PM) Caelin: "Oy.
(09:13:27 PM) dkap: Caelin, you notice a surge of magical power, and the Jager who were launched, are launched back into the city, some of them, on fire.
(09:14:12 PM) Caelin: "MAJOR magical action there. Not mine."
(09:14:19 PM) Caelin: What's the signature?
(09:14:47 PM) dkap: Not known to you.
(09:14:59 PM) Auricle: "Ah. And you'll know when it was free?"
(09:15:03 PM) dkap: And, while not entirely amaturish, in nature, very crude design.
(09:15:11 PM) Auricle: "After all, I want to make sure I know why I'm in a war."
(09:15:20 PM) Caelin: Are there ANY signs of power being borrowed from Caelin?
(09:15:32 PM) dkap: Nope.
(09:15:44 PM) Caelin: "Whoever did that, they have their own source."
(09:15:47 PM) dkap: There is power in abundance around here.
(09:16:10 PM) dkap: Matter of fact, you were automatically recharging, without even noticing.
(09:16:47 PM) Caelin: "I could...even things out magically by draining the area, but what is everyone else's recommendation?"
(09:17:08 PM) Caelin: And are there any signs of scrying at us or near us?
(09:17:17 PM) dkap: Chef D looks up, notices that there is a war going on, pulls a small, extending-arm mechanical thing out of his bag, and starts setting it up, while humming to himself.
(09:17:47 PM) dkap: There are no signs of scrying, and the power is an out-flow of the pattern, you ... umm ... might not want to drain that.
(09:18:03 PM) Auricle: "I'd really appreciate you...not draining the area."
(09:18:20 PM) Auricle: "REALLY appreciate it."
(09:18:21 PM) Caelin: "Doesn't seem like a wise decision at this point anyway..."
(09:19:33 PM) dkap: There is a similar "Whump" from before, with the same effects. Those that have been paying careful attention, would notice that it's the same Jager going back and forth, mostly recognizable by the burn patterns beginning to develop on them.
(09:19:33 PM) Auricle: "Good." Hmmm. "Okay, how long does it take one Jager to fetch an idiot?"
(09:20:02 PM) dkap: The Jager who got Chef D says "Zat not long."
(09:21:39 PM) Auricle: "Right. Okay, well, let's go down and meet with Mr. Zorg, and the Jager with Olim will just need to follow along eventually."
(09:22:26 PM) dkap: Chef D takes a pie pan out of his bag, clamps it carefully to the armature, and then, from a short distance away, throws some ingredients at the pie pan. Which catches the ingredients, begins to cock back, a sizling sound is heard, the smell of a fresh baked pie begins to permeate the area, and then, with a "sproing" launches the fresh, hot pie at the embattled host.
(09:23:26 PM) ***Caelin watches the pie launch. "I gotta admit, that made me think of my fiance."
(09:25:30 PM) ***Auricle blinks.
(09:25:42 PM) Auricle: "What does it do when it lands?"
(09:25:44 PM) Caelin: "Long story."
(09:27:00 PM) dkap: It lands in the midst of the army and apparently breaks up into scalding hot pie pieces, no boom.
(09:27:45 PM) dkap: Chef D: "I knew my pie rapid delivery device would come in handy some day." while throwing more raw ingredients at the now-waiting pie-plate.
(09:27:47 PM) Caelin: "Really, I think you should be apprenticed to my fiance."
(09:30:05 PM) Auricle: "He's just so valuable to me."
(09:30:34 PM) dkap: This one smells more like apple than pumpkin. It's actually mouth-wateringly good.
(09:30:48 PM) dkap: And then, "sproing" and another launch.
(09:31:12 PM) Auricle: "Can you do shoo-fly pie?"
(09:32:44 PM) dkap: Chef D, rummaging within his supplies: "Well ... as long as you don't want the variant with horse-hair, yes, I can!" And starts flinging molasses, and crumbs and other appropriate ingredients at the, again, now empty pan.
(09:35:16 PM) dkap: Unfortunately when the shoo-fly pie goes "Sproing" it begins to fall apart in mid-air, before hitting the target, raining (very hot) yummy goodness down over a larger part of the embattled folks.
(09:35:56 PM) Caelin: "Not a good structural integrity..."
(09:37:15 PM) dkap: Chef D: "Hrm ... perhaps that one is too liquid in it's crust. How about a nice Strawberry Rhubarb?" and starts throwing ingrediants again.
(09:39:05 PM) dkap: The fat Jager has moved slightly closer to the trap city, so that when the rapid pie delivery system goes sproing again, he jumps up and catches a good piece of the pie in his mouth.
(09:39:35 PM) dkap: The fat Jager looks around at the folks after doing so. "Zat iz mine VAVORITE."
(09:41:16 PM) Auricle: "You know, the only sad part of this is we aren't getting to eat any."
(09:41:41 PM) Auricle left the room (quit: *.net *.split).
(09:41:51 PM) Caelin: Woops
(09:41:59 PM) Auricle [~chatzilla@pool-96-233-176-18.spfdma.east.verizon.net] entered the room.
(09:42:18 PM) Auricle: You all disappeared and then reappeared.
(09:42:22 PM) Caelin: "Perhaps as a victory celebration, should we emerge victorious."
(09:42:31 PM) dkap: Seeing Auricle starting toward the city, Chef D rapidly packs up the pie system, careful around the pie plate, which he removes with tongs and carefully sets aside, apparently to cool.
(09:43:01 PM) Auricle: "Agreed, Caelin."
(09:44:01 PM) dkap: The pie plate immediately catches the area around it on fire.
(09:44:08 PM) dkap: Chef D does not notice.
(09:44:17 PM) Jean: "We could just get something to eat while he tests the defenses of the new city."
(09:45:40 PM) Auricle: "Actually, we should probably thank Ex-Rider. I'm sure we've learned lots."
(09:46:04 PM) Jean: "No reason to 'thank' him while he's useful."
(09:46:44 PM) Jean: "I think Ilk has some Godzillas stashed if he needs distracting."
(09:47:22 PM) dkap: There is a rumbling noise from the city. The Zorg Lacky nods to himself, as if a very clever bit is about to happen.
(09:48:34 PM) dkap: There is a lot of screaming and a major route from the front of the decoy city.
(09:48:58 PM) Auricle: Can we see what caused it?
(09:48:59 PM) dkap: Zorg Lacky: "Good, it worked! We didn't think we could get the flow right, but, it worked!"
(09:49:07 PM) Auricle: "What was it?"
(09:49:19 PM) dkap: Hard to tell, it just looks like the ground swelled in front of them a bit.
(09:50:03 PM) Caelin: "wow."
(09:51:20 PM) dkap: Zorg Lacky: "Oh that's the Lava/Salamander mix. Many defenses against kinetic attacks would stop anything faster, but the Lava/Salamander mix seems to get through those nicely. It's proof against magical cooling, because of the Salamander, the foot soldiers, if not physically held in place can out-run the front, but it does cause a route, and usually it's only the over encumbered, like the siege engines, and the ranked folks in tents that can't get out of the way fast enough."
(09:52:16 PM) Jean: (btw, it's rout. Unless there are packets involved. ;)
(09:52:29 PM) Auricle: (or roads)
(09:52:31 PM) dkap: Zorg Lackey: "And, fortunately, Salamanders are easily bored, once the lava begins to cool, so they wander off, usually in the direction away from where they were cooped up, and therefore into whatever remains of the encamped army, and, of course, once the lava cools, a massed charge usually clears the rest of the siege.
(09:52:45 PM) ***Auricle claps.
(09:52:48 PM) dkap: Right. Rout. *grin*
(09:52:48 PM) Auricle: "Impressive."
(09:54:10 PM) dkap: Chef D to Zorg Lacky: "Umm ... how hot is the lava, and where do you get your salamanders?"
(09:54:10 PM) ***Caelin nods in admiration.
(09:55:33 PM) dkap: Zorg Lacky: "You'd have to talk to our acquisitions department to find out about the salamanders. As for how hot the lava is? It's hot enough to melt rock."
(09:55:44 PM) dkap: Chef D: "Ahh ... would burn the cookies, then. Oh well."
(09:57:55 PM) dkap: Just as you are getting to the entrance that the Zorg Lacky is going to use to take you into the city, there is a shout from in front of the city, calling forth for the Horse Thieves to stand forth and fight him like honorable folks, rather than cravenly killing people off from the comfort of their city.
(09:58:50 PM) ***Auricle sighs.
(09:58:57 PM) Auricle: "Such an annoying person."
(09:59:14 PM) Caelin: "Not again. "
(09:59:16 PM) dkap: Zorg's voice booms back from the city (obviously amplified): "If you had any concept of honor, you would not have sneek-attacked said city. Obviously, you are not worthy of single combat."
(09:59:33 PM) Jean: "He's good."
(10:00:37 PM) dkap: The Rider shouts back: "Horse thieves do not deserve to be treated honorably."
(10:01:17 PM) dkap: Zorg, louder this time: "You show your own lack of honor, by not treating all who you would come against with honor. We will not indulge in your temper-tantrum. Either surrender, or leave."
(10:01:46 PM) Auricle: "Then why did he want us to come forth for honorable combat, if we don't deserve to be treated honorably?"
(10:02:54 PM) Jean: "He's pouting. With an army."
(10:03:08 PM) dkap: Zorg Lacky: "I think it's a last-ditch effort to achieve by a small, specialized force, what he could not achieve with his large force. It's typical in Amberite history for the leaders to be significantly better than the led."
(10:03:35 PM) ***Caelin smiles.
(10:03:54 PM) dkap: Zorg Lacky: "He is also probably planning on ambushing the smaller 'honorable' force, thinking that they would treat him with honor, and he could simply overrun them."
(10:04:58 PM) Auricle: "well, that would be silly, wouldn't it."
(10:05:12 PM) dkap: Zorg Lacky: "History does not record many parley-betrayals, because history is written by the winners, and the winners don't often like to write about how they offered honor, and returned with betrayal."
(10:05:19 PM) Caelin: "it's only silly if it doesn't work."
(10:06:52 PM) Auricle: "Well, yes, but...We bested him once already."
(10:07:13 PM) dkap: Zorg's Amplified Voice: "You have three choices, surrender, run, or get run-down and slaughtered by my ground troops. You have 2 minutes."
(10:07:17 PM) Jean: "He probably doesn't remember it that way."
(10:07:42 PM) dkap: Hrm ... "Zorg's Amplified Voice". Sounds like another band name.
(10:07:44 PM) Auricle: "And eaten. He left out eaten. Jagers eat people."
(10:07:57 PM) Caelin: (LOL)
(10:09:01 PM) dkap: Zorg's Lacky: "Actually we have been asking the Jager not to eat the enemy, until they are brought in and inspected. They might have poisoned themselves or their dead, to cause difficulty with the ground-troops."
(10:09:22 PM) Caelin: "Poison, eh?"
(10:09:49 PM) Auricle: "Oh, my poor Jager. They must be famished."
(10:10:02 PM) dkap: Zorg's Lacky: "It's something that Mr. Zorg would think of, so therefore he is protecting against it."
(10:10:03 PM) Auricle: "All this fighting and they can't eat the attackers?"
(10:10:31 PM) Caelin: "Well, we could always feed them pie...incoming...
(10:10:38 PM) dkap: Zorg's Lacky: "Not until they have been cleared by the poison control team."
(10:10:53 PM) ***Caelin sighs. *nod*
(10:11:01 PM) Auricle: "Oh, but then they can eat them? That's better then. Good job you guys are doing."
(10:11:49 PM) dkap: Zorg's Lacky: "So, we give up the demoralizing of the enemy, by letting them see their fallen get eaten, to protect the ground troops, themselves. It was a difficult decision, but it was weighed in the favor of preserving the Jager."
(10:13:02 PM) dkap: Zorg's Lacky: "Although, most attackers think they need a whole body to be able to get into whatever good afterlife they believe in, so, knowing that they might get eaten, and therefore not be able to get in was a strong weight on the side of the Jager dining."
(10:14:26 PM) ***Auricle nods.
(10:14:48 PM) dkap: Zorg's Lacky: "Also, there was the small problem, that Jager seem to want to nap after a really good gorging, which, well ... takes them out of action somewhat. Of course, there is nothing more fierce than a Jager, who has just curled up for a nap, when you poke him with a spear ..."
(10:15:03 PM) Auricle: GM: So are we in the test city now?
(10:15:16 PM) dkap: You are working your way down a tunnel into it, yes.
(10:16:07 PM) dkap: Through the check-points, with Zorg's Lacky taking care of the safe-guards, and re-arming them after you have passed.
(10:16:27 PM) dkap: But, being that most of you would not actually notice him doing that ... I wasn't bothering to mention it. *grin*
(10:16:44 PM) Auricle: YAY Team ADD!
(10:17:04 PM) dkap: *grin*
(10:17:39 PM) dkap: You end up coming up through a store-front, a cobbler's shop apparently. (And no, not an apple cobbler.)
(10:17:45 PM) Auricle: Actually, Auricle might, just because these are the test defenses for the City she ordered, after all.
(10:18:03 PM) dkap: Gargoyle certainly does.
(10:18:09 PM) Auricle: Well, close enough.
(10:18:17 PM) Auricle: :)
(10:19:08 PM) Jean: also team low warfare ;)
(10:20:16 PM) dkap: There are a few Jager, "casually" about in the cobbler's shop. One is absentmindedly gnawing on a boot, another seems to be sitting on the cobber's bench, pounding nail after nail into the bench itself, missing the fact that there probably should be a shoe involved somewhere.
(10:20:19 PM) Caelin: Well, even if there's high warfare, Caelin's presence automatically lowers us to Amber-level warfare, if not human. :)
(10:21:00 PM) dkap: As you are climbing through the trap-door, you realize that Chef D's bulk is not going to fit.
(10:22:56 PM) Auricle: I think we might be at Human level, then.
(10:23:03 PM) Auricle: We are NOT the warfare team.
(10:23:28 PM) Caelin: Heh
(10:23:31 PM) Auricle: Unless, by warfare, you want us to randomly wander around going "ooh, shiny, oops, oh hey, won."
(10:23:46 PM) Caelin: Heh
(10:23:55 PM) Auricle: "Um."
(10:24:05 PM) ***Auricle investigates the trap door.
(10:24:06 PM) dkap: Chef D, realizing that he isn't going to fit through the hole, pulls out his "light cake knife" (think light-saber in cake-knife form-factor) and starts enlargening the hole so he can fit.
(10:24:16 PM) Auricle: "Or that will work, too."
(10:25:00 PM) ***Caelin blinks. "Impressive."
(10:25:20 PM) dkap: Chef D has now gotten distracted with the cutting, and is indulging in scroll-work, and fancy scallops.
(10:25:32 PM) Jean: I think Caelin and Jean are still less than Human level
(10:25:46 PM) dkap: (YAY Team ADD!)
(10:26:03 PM) Caelin: Whatever Jean is, Caelin is one level below that.
(10:26:38 PM) dkap: Zorg's Lacky has run off, to get Zorg.
(10:27:42 PM) dkap: Pip has left the cart in the hole.
(10:27:58 PM) Auricle: (You mean I might be the Highest Warfare of our group?....No, wait, I bet the Jagers beat me out.)
(10:28:07 PM) dkap: And is currently trying to talk Chef D into coming up, as opposed to making pretty.
(10:28:15 PM) dkap: Yes, the Jager beat you out for warfare.
(10:28:30 PM) dkap: And you are not sure about Pip ... *grin*
(10:28:49 PM) Caelin: Pip is still alive, so that speaks well of him.
(10:28:51 PM) Auricle: "Hey! D! It's a trap door, not a cake!"
(10:29:48 PM) dkap: Chef D: "Right. But it was cutting so nicely ... I just needed to let loose it's inner scallops."
(10:30:19 PM) dkap: And he climbs up. Leaving just Pip's cart, below.
(10:30:28 PM) dkap: Zorg's Lacky comes running back in.
(10:31:50 PM) dkap: Zorg's Lacky: "Well ... Mr. Zorg would meet with you, but he is overseeing the rout. He'll be free in about 10 minutes, or so, I believe. The person shouting about horse thieves and honor seems to have disappeared, but the rest of the troops are either surrendering, or being run down, and slaughtered."
(10:32:04 PM) Auricle: "Excellent!"
(10:32:34 PM) dkap: (Yes, Horse fit through the hole that Chef D cut.)
(10:33:05 PM) dkap: (And, interestingly enough, he actually climbed the ladder, as opposed to simply flying as he did before.)
(10:34:51 PM) dkap: Zorg's Lacky: "Shall we go to his office? He put it in the same place, relative to the reflecting pool, on the off chance you were here without a guide."
(10:35:04 PM) Auricle: "Let's go."
(10:35:26 PM) ***Auricle heads out of the cobbler's shop in the direction of where the reflecting pool ought to be.
(10:35:59 PM) dkap: Zorg's Lacky leads, to hopefully minimize the distractions.
(10:37:13 PM) dkap: On your way to the reflecting pool, you see Zorg in the square, sending off various Jager to do various jobs. Seeing you approach, he sends the rest of the Jager off, all leave but one large one.
(10:37:19 PM) Auricle left the room (quit: Read error: Connection reset by peer).
(10:37:26 PM) Caelin: D'oh!
(10:39:23 PM) Auricle [~chatzilla@pool-96-233-176-18.spfdma.east.verizon.net] entered the room.
(10:39:23 PM) Jean: always something.
(10:39:38 PM) Auricle: bleh, seamonkey crashed.
(10:39:41 PM) Caelin: And we're back after a brief station identification.
(10:39:53 PM) dkap: That large one throws off his skin, and under it, there is the Rider, whipping his sword out, and attacking the (apparently, unarmed) Mr. Zorg, shouting "you are an honorless man, who knows nothing of honor, how dare you impinge MY honor, I will slay you on the spot!"
(10:40:22 PM) Auricle: (What did I miss before that? We were on the way to the reflecty pool)
(10:40:45 PM) Jean: We arrived. I don't think you missed anything.
(10:40:49 PM) dkap: Mr. Zorg avoids the sword blows, quite well, ducking and weaving, and getting in a few open-handed slaps across the Rider's face.
(10:40:49 PM) Auricle: K
(10:41:04 PM) dkap: Auricle: Zorg's Lacky leads, to hopefully minimize the distractions.
(10:41:10 PM) Jean: to caelin: "Does Zorro have an understudy?"
(10:41:15 PM) dkap: Auricle: On your way to the reflecting pool, you see Zorg in the square, sending off various Jager to do various jobs. Seeing you approach, he sends the rest of the Jager off, all leave but one large one.
(10:41:42 PM) Auricle: (thanks)
(10:42:06 PM) Auricle: "Well, at least now I don't need to go looking for Ex-Rider."
(10:42:16 PM) dkap: Mr. Zorg finally twists around the Rider, holding the Rider's own sword against the Rider's throat.
(10:42:31 PM) ***Auricle claps.
(10:42:39 PM) dkap: Mr. Zorg: "I might accept your unconditional surrender. If you can be convincing about it."
(10:43:19 PM) dkap: Auricle, Gargoyle reminds you about Dworkin's Edict, and the fact that the Rider fell under it.
(10:44:29 PM) dkap: The Rider attempts to spit in Mr. Zorg's face (missing him, of course) and says "Death before Dishonor."
(10:44:35 PM) Auricle: "Wait!"
(10:44:44 PM) ***Caelin sighs.
(10:44:53 PM) Auricle: "Sadly, Ex-Rider there is under Dworkin's Edict."
(10:45:03 PM) Caelin: "Lemme guess...another possible amberite?"
(10:45:05 PM) dkap: Mr. Zorg: "Since you have already dishonored yourself, you must already be dead." And begins to move the sword.
(10:45:14 PM) Auricle: "Yes."
(10:45:28 PM) Auricle: "Don't Kill him.
(10:45:33 PM) dkap: Mr. Zorg looks up. "You would spare him?"
(10:45:42 PM) Caelin: "It's not like we have choice.
(10:45:54 PM) Auricle: "Well....sorta."
(10:45:55 PM) dkap: Mr. Zorg: "He has invaded you. It's not a good idea to let him live."
(10:46:13 PM) Auricle: "No, but Dworkin's Edict is pretty clear. We're not exactly allowed to kill him."
(10:46:15 PM) ***Caelin turns to Auricle. "YOu've MET Dworkin, right?"
(10:46:27 PM) dkap: Mr. Zorg: "I want his head for the castle walls. So he can warn others who wish to invade."
(10:46:38 PM) Caelin: "That's one maniac I ain't crossin'."
(10:46:56 PM) dkap: Mr. Zorg: " ... of course ... if it was his living head ... "
(10:46:56 PM) ***Auricle gives Caelin a look like, Are you kidding me?? "I *hugged* Dworkin."
(10:46:59 PM) Jean: "Dworkin's edict only forbids fatal injuries."
(10:47:13 PM) ***Jean looks innocent and whistles unconvincingly.
(10:47:23 PM) Auricle: "Indeed. We can vivisect him and leave him hanging on the wall alive."
(10:47:23 PM) ***Caelin LAUGHS aloud.
(10:47:31 PM) Auricle: "So long as he stays alive at the end of it."
(10:48:05 PM) dkap: Mr. Zorg: "Could you arrange for just his head to keep living? Caelin?"
(10:48:08 PM) ***Auricle grins.
(10:48:17 PM) Auricle: "And it takes quite a bit to kill an Amberite."
(10:48:29 PM) Jean: "How's the torturer's guild doing? They disassembled Brand for a while."
(10:48:30 PM) Caelin: "Erm...you REALLY don't want to task me with that.
(10:48:56 PM) Jean: "Norton kept Julian's nose alive."
(10:49:02 PM) dkap: Mr. Zorg: "Well ... you seemed like the most likely person in this present company."
(10:49:31 PM) dkap: Mr. Zorg: "Yes, but in the case of Julian's Nose, wasn't the rest of Julian alive, as well, somewhere else?"
(10:50:01 PM) ***Auricle paces around the Ex-Rider and Mr. Zorg, looking thoughtful.
(10:50:38 PM) dkap: Mr. Zorg: "What we probably want is some life-support system, and a bellows system, so he can still talk, and a regular scheduled trimming, in case he starts to grow his body back."
(10:51:25 PM) dkap: Mr. Zorg: "And, knowing he has a propensity to speak ... incorrectly, I want the bellows system to have an off-switch."
(10:52:15 PM) dkap: Jean, there is a Norton in your range of vision (he and you are both still in the council chambers. Norton and Mouseferatu are still ... discussing things.
(10:52:16 PM) Auricle: "We'd need to build a a rudimentary cardiovascular system to keep oxygen and blood flowing to the brain...we wouldn't need to worry about the nerve endings, can always allow those to re-attach on their own later...course, the body needs to live too, harder to do that, perhaps I could simply put it in some sort of stasis...
(10:52:35 PM) Jean: "The rest of Brand was alive, too. Is that a problem?"
(10:52:40 PM) ***Auricle holds out her hand to Chef D. "Notebook....pen...."
(10:52:59 PM) dkap: Mr. Zorg: "I don't believe the body needs to live. Wasn't there something about Gerard not having a body?"
(10:52:59 PM) Jean: "His body might regrow a head with a better personality."
(10:53:06 PM) ***Auricle still looking over the Rider. Part of Auricle is transforming into measuring equipment.
(10:53:24 PM) Caelin: "Well, Gerard was an especially stubborn one."
(10:53:34 PM) dkap: Every time the Rider twitches more blood flows from his neck.
(10:53:36 PM) Auricle: "More fun to keep both halves alive; better fits the edict, more to play with," she mumbles.
(10:53:40 PM) Jean: "Gerard's disembodying was done by Oberon, who was killed with Oberon's consent. Best not to embrace that as a precedent."
(10:53:52 PM) Jean: (that second 'Oberon' is Dworkin)
(10:54:38 PM) dkap: Jean, in addition to Norton there, there is a Torturer's guild representative in the Guild Gallery.
(10:55:09 PM) dkap: Auricle, last you knew, Dworkin was in Kolvir, studying the differences in the pattern, so he could be consulted.
(10:55:27 PM) Auricle: "Or we could just let his body regrow from his head, once it does, his punishment is over...Hmmm." She reaches out and touches the blood on his neck to start analyzing it.
(10:55:41 PM) dkap: It's good, rich, amberite blood.
(10:55:48 PM) Auricle: Which Pattern?
(10:55:51 PM) dkap: Make a good blood-pudding, it would.
(10:55:54 PM) dkap: Old pattern.
(10:55:55 PM) Auricle: I'm assuming Dworkin.
(10:55:57 PM) dkap: Strong though.
(10:56:02 PM) Caelin: "REmember, you MUST ensure his survival through the entire ordeal."
(10:56:05 PM) Auricle: recently walked?
(10:56:27 PM) dkap: Probably. At least, more recently walked than you thought the pattern existed.
(10:56:41 PM) Auricle: Hmmm. Then again, time is weird.
(10:56:52 PM) Auricle: "Old Pattern. Good."
(10:56:59 PM) Auricle: "Your blood will like me."
(10:56:59 PM) dkap: Well ... you can't tell that it's _actually_ old pattern, just not yours.
(10:57:10 PM) Auricle: (shrug)
(10:57:19 PM) dkap: And, really, what other patterns matter.
(10:57:22 PM) Auricle: (good an assumption as any)
(10:58:05 PM) Auricle: Gargoyle: Alert Dworkin in Kolvir that we could use his opinion on this matter?
(10:58:27 PM) dkap: The Rider, deciding that death is the better course at this point, tries to drop his weight against the sword, severing his own head.
(10:58:58 PM) dkap: Mr. Zorg, rolls with it, coming around him in the drop, and ending up kneeling against the small of his back.
(10:59:10 PM) ***Auricle spread my hand thin between his neck and blade, harden up.
(10:59:55 PM) dkap: Mr. Zorg, carefully tosses the sword, out of reach. It embeds itself into the wall of a nearby building, two stories up.
(11:00:19 PM) Auricle: "You, Ex-Rider, are testing my patience."
(11:00:29 PM) dkap: (sorry, Mr. Zorg is faster than you, Auricle)
(11:00:41 PM) Caelin: "Well, for now why don't we knock him out?"
(11:00:49 PM) dkap: Rider "My Mother will avenge me!"
(11:00:52 PM) Auricle: "Oh, please."
(11:00:59 PM) Auricle: (to Caelin)
(11:01:45 PM) ***Auricle tucks the little bit of blood into a newly created vial labeled "Rider" and then into herself.
(11:02:29 PM) dkap: Mr. Zorg looks at Caelin, "Before you do, should we find out who his mother is? Just in case?"
(11:02:43 PM) Caelin: "Hrm...you make a good point.
(11:02:45 PM) Jean: "We definitely should.'
(11:02:52 PM) Auricle: "Very well."
(11:02:56 PM) Jean: to the Rider: "Who's your mommy?"
(11:03:16 PM) dkap: Rider: "You will find out when her wrath descends upon you."
(11:03:43 PM) Jean: "Not really. There's enough wrath going on we probably won't associate random debacles with you."
(11:03:45 PM) dkap: Mr. Zorg: "Does anyone have a reliable way, that does _not_ involve this worthless wag talking?" *sigh*
(11:04:00 PM) Jean: "If you want us to actually know when your revenge kicks in, you'll have to give us a hint."
(11:04:11 PM) Auricle: "Sadly, I don't have a database of Amberite blood built up or anything."
(11:04:19 PM) dkap: Rider: "You will know when Death is staring you in the face."
(11:04:35 PM) ***Jean sighs.
(11:04:46 PM) Jean: "I've died more times than you've had hot breakfasts."
(11:04:57 PM) ***Caelin cackles.
(11:05:04 PM) ***Auricle giggles.
(11:05:07 PM) dkap: Mr. Zorg: "Jean, your mother might be able to help with this, I seem to recall she keeps track of these things."
(11:05:33 PM) Jean: "Yes, but I have to give her more to go on than 'Loser, spawn of embarassed Amberite'."
(11:05:52 PM) Caelin: "Indeed...not specific enough."
(11:05:53 PM) Jean: "Is his name writtend own anywhere? Underwear, maybe?"
(11:05:54 PM) dkap: Chef D looks somewhat incredulous: "A HOT breakfast? Now ... _that's_ an idea."
(11:06:04 PM) Auricle: "Besides, it's not like she's ever figured out who's kid I am." pauses. "She hasn't, has she?"
(11:06:54 PM) Jean: "...ish."
(11:07:20 PM) Auricle: "ish?"
(11:07:39 PM) Jean: "Do you want to talk in front of the head, though?"
(11:07:44 PM) Auricle: "No."
(11:07:48 PM) Auricle: "Point."
(11:08:18 PM) Auricle: GM: Okay, does he at least LOOK like any of the major Amberite lines?
(11:08:42 PM) Auricle: "ooh! Jean! Does the Horse know?"
(11:08:56 PM) dkap: Mr. Zorg: "If you don't mind asking her, of course."
(11:09:02 PM) Auricle: "Who is mom is, I mean."
(11:09:05 PM) dkap: Yes, he does.
(11:09:22 PM) Auricle: Which line?
(11:09:24 PM) dkap: (I mean, yes, he looks amberite.)
(11:09:42 PM) Jean: gm: has the horse met his mother?
(11:09:45 PM) dkap: But asking Horse would get you an ... interesting answer.
(11:10:00 PM) Jean: or any relatives, or gone anywhere that seems home shadowish?
(11:10:04 PM) dkap: The image of the woman sending him on his way on the newly created Horse is that of Cassandra.
(11:10:21 PM) dkap: And older, and more weathered Cassandra, but Cassandra none-the-less.
(11:11:00 PM) Caelin: GM: Who sees that image?
(11:11:05 PM) dkap: Only Jean.
(11:11:25 PM) dkap: Unless he chooses to share via viewscreen.
(11:11:28 PM) Jean: "Oh, wow."
(11:11:48 PM) Jean: turns to the guy: "Your mother must be _very_ disappointed in you. Or Amnesiac. Or both."
(11:13:13 PM) dkap: Rider spits: "My Mother is the greatest of Warriors, the best Mage ever and gets whatever she wants. She will avenge me!"
(11:13:16 PM) Jean: "Yeah, we can't kill him. But as long as we can fix him, I don't think his mother will be too upset."
(11:13:42 PM) Caelin: "Tbe best mage, eh?"
(11:14:01 PM) ***Jean hm.s
(11:14:11 PM) dkap: Mr. Zorg: "I wonder if he realizes he just besieged his grandmother's city ..."
(11:14:23 PM) Jean: "That could be a bad thing. We should confer with the King."
(11:14:33 PM) Caelin: "No. Definitely not."
(11:14:36 PM) Jean: "But I don't think there's any useful information to be gained from the head's tongue-flapping."
(11:14:47 PM) dkap: Oh, sorry, ret-con. Jean didn't say yet who his mother is.
(11:15:01 PM) Jean: (darn tooting Jean hasn't shared that)
(11:15:03 PM) Caelin: "Ahh, right.
(11:15:07 PM) Jean: I have five year old warfare, not -zero- warfare.
(11:15:30 PM) dkap: Yes, but the GM is, occasionally over-exuberant with sharing his delight in the twists of things.
(11:15:40 PM) Auricle: "Prince Zach is the best Mage."
(11:16:12 PM) dkap: Somewhere, in Amber, Zach just twiched, from you saying that, while standing next to Caelin. *grin*
(11:16:30 PM) Jean: "Auricle, did your mom ever tell you a story that involved golden apples and Amberites? Mine did."
(11:16:36 PM) Caelin: (ROTFL)
(11:17:05 PM) Auricle: "I don't have a mom. Well, okay, I have a mother, well, we assume, there is always the theory I'm just....well. No."
(11:17:34 PM) Jean: "Once you have a claim about who's the best at anything around Amberites, they start trying to prove it, and no one wants to admit they're wrong..."
(11:17:36 PM) dkap: Chef D: "I don't have a mother."
(11:17:46 PM) Jean: "It never ends well. Except for Flora. Definitely not for nearby cities."
(11:17:53 PM) ***Jean pats Chef D comfortingly on the hand.
(11:18:06 PM) Caelin: "I have a mother. No one, including myself, is in a hurry to meet her."
(11:18:37 PM) Auricle: "Oh, well. Hmm."
(11:19:25 PM) Auricle: "Do we have someplace we can put Ex-Rider? While I figure out how to keep him alive while separated from his head?"
(11:20:36 PM) dkap: Jean, Norton could probably handle him, or you could borrow Mouseferatu's bottle ...
(11:21:30 PM) Caelin: "Oh, Norton! Why did we not think to contact him earlier?"
(11:21:33 PM) Jean: I don't think Jean ever really figured out the bottle deal
(11:22:00 PM) Jean: gm: who put Dara in the glass coffin? norton?
(11:22:02 PM) dkap: Mr. Zorg, upon realizing who Caelin means, looks around, just in case she decided to show up when she was referenced.
(11:22:19 PM) ***Auricle has no idea, unless the Gargoyle does.
(11:22:32 PM) dkap: Norton encased Dara, yes.
(11:22:39 PM) Jean: (Is Zorg familiar with Caelin's mother or grandmother?")
(11:22:49 PM) Jean: "Norton should be able to provide a Dara special."
(11:22:51 PM) dkap: Apparently.
(11:23:32 PM) dkap: And Jean was around when Mandor got Mouseferatu to decant Norton, so you do understand what the bottle is.
(11:23:37 PM) Caelin: (I think he meant regarding Norton)
(11:23:42 PM) dkap: You even told the Guild about it.
(11:23:45 PM) Caelin: (and a typo, no?)
(11:24:35 PM) Jean: (Oh, right.)
(11:24:58 PM) dkap: And Mouseferatu's bottle would even fit in a fish ... *grin*
(11:25:00 PM) Jean: Cagliostro has the bottles too. I think Norton's a 'safer' bet.
(11:25:22 PM) dkap: But Norton would fit in a fish, as well.
(11:25:38 PM) Auricle: fishy fishy
(11:26:23 PM) Jean: also true.
(11:26:36 PM) Jean: "Shall I invite Norton to the party?"
(11:28:01 PM) Auricle: "For storage? Sure."
(11:28:11 PM) Caelin: "Definitely/"
(11:28:30 PM) Jean: to Norton: "Norton, are you free to put Cassandra's idiot son in a glass box for a time-out?"
(11:29:25 PM) dkap: Norton looks up, grins and says: "That would be a welcome diversion. Mouseferatu, Mandor, if you would excuse me for a moment."
(11:30:32 PM) dkap: Norton wanders over to the largest collection of Ilk tendrils in the room, takes a big sip, and then rolls himself into a little lizard-ball.
(11:30:34 PM) ***Jean fishes Norton to the party.
(11:30:47 PM) Caelin: Good place to hang?
(11:30:56 PM) Auricle: (is somewhat bothered that Jean tells Norton, but not the people right here, who's son the Rider is.)
(11:31:31 PM) Auricle: :P
(11:31:39 PM) Auricle: I'm goog with hanging here.
(11:31:41 PM) dkap: The lizard staggers it's way out of the fish ... looks around, Norton-ifies, wanders over to Mr. Zorg, and High-five's him.
(11:31:47 PM) Auricle: er, good.
(11:32:07 PM) dkap: We can hang here, or finish with the Rider ... either way.
(11:32:19 PM) Caelin: I need to fall over, actually.
(11:32:25 PM) Auricle: I'm actually pretty beat, too.
(11:32:31 PM) Jean: (I'm waiting till the kid is out so he doesn't know what we know...)
(11:32:32 PM) dkap: Reasonable. Until next week, true believers!
(11:32:41 PM) Auricle: Night!
(11:32:41 PM) Jean: (Particularly since Cassandra had no magical talent last I heard.)
(11:32:43 PM) Jean: night!
(11:32:52 PM) Caelin: Night!
(11:32:54 PM) Caelin left the room.
(11:32:56 PM) Auricle left the room (quit: Quit: Chatzilla 0.9.77 [SeaMonkey 1.0.1/2006040400]).
