(08:24:19 PM) Cagliostro: woo, dkap
(08:24:32 PM) dkap: Sorry about that, folks. The busses were not running on their normal schedule. Something about being 11/11
(08:24:43 PM) Cagliostro: yep, holiday schedule.
(08:25:20 PM) dkap: So I found out ... to my (and my knee's) detriment.
(08:25:32 PM) Cagliostro: yep, I can see the ow there.
(08:25:36 PM) Cagliostro: ice, then heat.
(08:25:37 PM) Cagliostro: :)
(08:26:14 PM) dkap: Indeed.
(08:26:26 PM) Auricle: poor you
(08:26:36 PM) dkap: Oh apparently my keyboard is also adding extraneous "a" characters every once in a while ... just to be warned.
(08:26:37 PM) Auricle: See, I likes the holiday schedule -- but then, I work in a bank
(08:27:17 PM) dkap: *grin* It does work in your favor. Theoretically I had today off, as well, but, unfortunately, there are a few projects still kicking my ass, and I wanted to put one of them to bed today.
(08:27:42 PM) dkap: But ... where were we? I believe ... Count Cagliostro was decanting someone.
(08:27:58 PM) dkap: Caelin was chasing down missed leads to Cassandra.
(08:28:41 PM) dkap: Jean and Auricle were back in the city, trying to verify/accept the lab setup, or burn it to the ground and start again?
(08:29:27 PM) Auricle: Yes; I think Jean thinks it is a trap and Auricle can't figure out how to verify the identities of the people present.
(08:31:44 PM) dkap: And I believe you lost Chef D again.
(08:31:50 PM) Cagliostro: Cagliostro is indeed still decanting Carolan in Greater Arden
(08:31:52 PM) Cagliostro is now known as Jean
(08:32:55 PM) Jean: Auricle was talking to Arachne
(08:32:59 PM) Jean: who had mentioned House Moondark
(08:33:06 PM) Auricle: Did we? I thought he'd followed along.
(08:33:31 PM) Auricle: I was pretty sure he was cooking...something...while traipsing behind us
(08:33:39 PM) Jean: the last I saw he was feeding bread bits to the Jager
(08:33:50 PM) Auricle: And the Jager follow me...
(08:34:02 PM) Jean: (10:53:02 PM) dkap: Chef D has shared some of his bread-bits with some of the other Jager, and is carrying the rest of them on a collapsible tray that, under other circumstances, you would love to investigate how it gets to be so big, and solid from the space it collapses down to.
(08:34:02 PM) Jean: (10:53:50 PM) dkap: Pip (wisely) leaves his cart outside, but inside the ring of Jager, and asks them (politely) if they could make sure nothing happens to the stuff on the cart, or the cart, because they belong to you.
(08:34:02 PM) Jean: (10:54:45 PM) dkap: Right inside the entrance-way is a hat-shelf with some pretty impressive hats on it, and a big sign that reads "Hat Free Zone. Take off your hat and store it here, before proceeding."
(08:36:02 PM) Jean: then we came in, there was some talking, etc.
(08:36:14 PM) dkap: Yes, and I believe he got distracted by the fellow who actually let you into the building?
(08:36:26 PM) Jean: if he did, that happened without Jean or Auricle noticing
(08:36:30 PM) Jean: so I'm not saying you're wrong, there.
(08:36:35 PM) Auricle: Indeed.
(08:36:42 PM) dkap: Hrm ... Let me check my notes some more ... a moment.
(08:36:48 PM) Auricle: Distracted leading the ....um...look! Shiny!
(08:38:32 PM) arkhonII [~arkhon@adsl-99-141-120-134.dsl.chcgil.sbcglobal.net] entered the room.
(08:38:42 PM) Auricle: hello!
(08:39:04 PM) arkhonII: Hiya!
(08:39:42 PM) dkap: Hrm ... Kintani is off and being busy hunting, as well ... interesting.
(08:43:02 PM) dkap: Right ... Chef D was about to come into the lab, when his egg-timer went off, and so he stayed outside with the Jager.
(08:43:39 PM) ***Auricle needs to put him in charge of...something. More than just kitchens. Do we have kitchens? I need kitchens. I like him cooking.
(08:44:26 PM) dkap: You can have kitchens, if you want. Which reminds you... when _did_ you eat last ...
(08:44:46 PM) Auricle: I dunno, the Gargoyle tracks that and reminds me.
(08:46:02 PM) Jean: we had dinner near chaos not too long ago
(08:46:07 PM) Jean: where we ran into bucephalus
(08:46:30 PM) dkap: And you had frosting not that long ago either.
(08:46:41 PM) dkap: It just reminds you that you have eaten.
(08:47:07 PM) Auricle: Um, it's original purpose was to track and remind when TO eat, etc. Then it gre.
(08:47:09 PM) Auricle: grew
(08:47:43 PM) dkap: Indeed.
(08:47:58 PM) dkap: As your projects often do.
(08:48:04 PM) dkap: So, you are chatting with Arachne.
(08:48:15 PM) dkap: (I believe that's her name ...)
(08:49:24 PM) Auricle: yes
(08:49:47 PM) Auricle: She wanted me to hook up the gargoyle to...something and Auricle's balking because, well, Gargoyle.
(08:50:18 PM) dkap: Indeed, although it's a device that Gargoyle is sure he had a hand in designing.
(08:51:00 PM) Jean: Jean's casual paranoia is infectious
(08:51:15 PM) Auricle: Yeah, Auricle was NEVER this paranoid until you.
(08:51:18 PM) arkhonII: It serves the greater good.
(08:52:01 PM) Jean: Don't blame me, I spent over six months in Norton's head with Corwin and Ilk.
(08:52:18 PM) ***arkhonII became a head person for a while too.
(08:52:24 PM) Auricle: Well, that's certainly an excuse.
(08:52:30 PM) arkhonII: In Norton's head, no less.
(08:52:36 PM) arkhonII: But not nearly as long as Jean.
(08:52:45 PM) Auricle: Gargoyle: Does it appear it will do as she says it will?
(08:53:35 PM) dkap: Gargoyle: "Since I am going to control the connection and the interface, I expect it will.
(08:54:11 PM) ***Auricle nods, shrugs at Jean, and puts the Gargoyle in place.
(08:54:21 PM) dkap: Gargoyle: "If there is even the vaguest hint of a virus or trojan horse, I'll abort immediately, and recommend termination.
(08:55:35 PM) arkhonII left the room (quit: Ping timeout).
(08:55:36 PM) dkap: Gargoyle interfaces, uploads new keys, and connects.
(08:56:58 PM) ***Auricle watches the Gargoyle fretfully.
(08:58:10 PM) dkap: There is a slight fluctuation in the light-level of the lab, and then all the monitors turn to face you, and read "Yes, I am back in control again."
(08:59:29 PM) Auricle: "And what projects have they started running?"
(09:00:24 PM) dkap: Gargoyle to you, and simulataneously on the screens, starts listing projects, both old and new, colour coded, with amounts of time devoted since startup.
(09:00:42 PM) dkap: Most of the new ones seem to be marked "Jager-disruptive" and some of the old ones as well.
(09:01:14 PM) Auricle: "Why are you trying to disrupt my Jagers?"
(09:02:37 PM) Jean: "Are you sure you have the directionality right?" inquires Jean, having noticed the uptick in the amount of blue dots in the room.
(09:03:02 PM) dkap: Arachne: "Oh? They are yours? We aren't trying to disrupt them, we are trying to protect ourselves from being disrupted _by_ them.
(09:03:32 PM) dkap: Arachne: "Those are the projects that their mere presence causes ... unpredictable, and often explosive results.
(09:05:31 PM) Auricle: "Their mine. They are....designed to follow me and do as I need or say. They'll also do what they want, barring command, and to a lesser degree, they'll follow and obey other Amberites, but they've a lot more free will with others, and they won't follow another Amberite if I give an order."
(09:06:16 PM) Auricle: "but they shouldn't be making things explosive."
(09:06:27 PM) Auricle: "well, not by being *present*"
(09:08:31 PM) dkap: Arachne: "We don't understand it either ... there seems to be no mappable pattern that we can detect at the moment.
(09:08:53 PM) dkap: Arachne: "We are still collecting data."
(09:08:54 PM) Auricle: GM: The Gargoyles are a pattern-based construct, right? Would that be causing the interference, if the lab techs were working on something Chaotic?
(09:09:15 PM) Auricle: GM: I mean, they did just get sent here from the Courts, iirc
(09:10:12 PM) dkap: They did, but the projects don't seem to only be of recent nature.
(09:10:23 PM) Auricle: GM: Oh, sheesh, I mean the Jager, although it would hold true for anything pattern based.
(09:11:09 PM) arkhonII [~arkhon@m585e36d0.tmodns.net] entered the room.
(09:11:32 PM) Auricle: "Jean? Directionality?"
(09:11:35 PM) arkhonII: WHY power went out in the men's dressing room is still a mystery.
(09:12:06 PM) Auricle: (OOC) Theaters. You know.
(09:13:58 PM) dkap: Mike, so you could grasp each other with terror, in the dark?
(09:14:09 PM) dkap: Since, none of you have ever, you know, larped before?
(09:14:30 PM) Auricle: There could have been a grue
(09:15:04 PM) dkap: There is some rapper, who did a song about you might be eaten by a grue.
(09:15:06 PM) Jean: "What you already said - who was disrupting who."
(09:16:11 PM) arkhonII: (Well, back now, for however long my phone will hold a charge and grant me internet)
(09:16:56 PM) dkap: Oh lord, who art in net, token be thy name, thy packets be done ...
(09:17:07 PM) Auricle: "Oh, you meant if...got it."
(09:17:47 PM) Auricle: "Gargoyle, can you determine the cause of the intereference?"
(09:18:23 PM) dkap: Gargoyle, to Auricle, and on the screens "Insufficient data at this time"
(09:18:42 PM) dkap: Gargoyle privately to Auricle: "It seems that they are actively stepping up the search-space though."
(09:18:54 PM) ***Auricle turns around. "Hey, Jagers, get a good hat and get in here."
(09:19:03 PM) Auricle: Gargoyle: Search-space?
(09:19:44 PM) dkap: There are two right behind you, in the anteroom that you have yet to proceed from.
(09:20:04 PM) dkap: Right next to the hat space.
(09:20:59 PM) ***Auricle grins. "All right, let's figure out the Jager problem."
(09:21:48 PM) dkap: Arachne: "We have been working on that. But not exclusively. There are still several tests running that I think you might be interested in. We have, possibly, come up with a weapon against the evil winged woman.
(09:23:29 PM) Auricle: "really? Let me see!"
(09:26:03 PM) dkap: She looks at the Jager, winces a bit, appears to do some mental calculations in her head, shrugs, and says "Right this way."
(09:27:45 PM) ***Auricle follows her.
(09:28:15 PM) Jean: as does Jean
(09:28:32 PM) dkap: The Jager seem to hesitate.
(09:29:04 PM) dkap: Jager: "Umm .. iz dis a hat losin zircumstance?"
(09:29:46 PM) ***Auricle frowns. "Um...I'm not really sure. It shouldn't be. Why?"
(09:30:16 PM) dkap: They point to the hat case.
(09:30:25 PM) dkap: With the sign.
(09:30:52 PM) Auricle: "I think that's just a way to keep you guys from entering. Pretty hats, distracted Jagers."
(09:31:10 PM) Auricle: "However, if you're worried about your hats, you can leave them."
(09:31:32 PM) dkap: The seem to conference for a moment.
(09:32:09 PM) dkap: Jager: "Umm ... diz iz not a gut place. Ju in rizk."
(09:32:30 PM) Auricle: "From?"
(09:32:35 PM) Auricle: Gargoyle: Risks?
(09:32:40 PM) dkap: Jager: "Lozza us try and git in, no git out."
(09:33:04 PM) Auricle: "What have you done to my Jagers who tried to get in here?"
(09:33:14 PM) dkap: Gargoyle to Auricle only, not on the screens: "Risk analysis, minimal if any to you, over 60% to the Jager."
(09:33:34 PM) Auricle: Gargoyle: From?
(09:35:02 PM) dkap: Gargoyle: "Current projects running that have shown a high indication of having side effects of Jager instability."
(09:35:39 PM) dkap: Gargoyle: "Several have shown to be dangerous to those in the experiment, and to those Jager interacting with the experiment by being present."
(09:38:00 PM) Auricle: Gargoyle: Is HER weapon one of them?
(09:41:06 PM) dkap: Gargoyle: "Unclear. There have only been very few authorized people involved with the weapons research."
(09:41:49 PM) dkap: Gargoyle: "Note, at least one body that was being disected to determine cause of death is listed in the Jager-bad database."
(09:42:00 PM) ***Auricle nods slowly.
(09:42:30 PM) Auricle: "Jagers, stay here, please. The risk to me is minimal."
(09:44:03 PM) dkap: The Jager look relieved.
(09:44:39 PM) dkap: One of them goes over to lean against the piece of equipment that the guy who let you in is halfway into.
(09:44:58 PM) Auricle: "Sorry, Arachne, lead on."
(09:45:20 PM) dkap: When the Jager gets about 2 feet away from it, it (the machine) gives out a tortured scream of metal against metal, and collapses, crushing the tech.
(09:48:40 PM) Auricle: GM: What just happened? Was there anything else obvious or energy or...what?
(09:48:46 PM) dkap: Arachne runs over to him, and tries to see if he is dead or not, and, if not, tries to start saving him.
(09:49:15 PM) dkap: There was no obvious energy, the metal, that seemed fine and secured, just collapsed, as if gravity suddenly increased, or something.
(09:50:52 PM) Jean: dkap: is Ilk available? He might be interested in this.
(09:51:11 PM) Jean: I will speculate to him that there's a mild potential power/anti-power thing happening in Auricle's lab.
(09:51:20 PM) Auricle: "They don't do that to anything....else..."
(09:51:49 PM) dkap: Ilk is not currently present.
(09:51:54 PM) Auricle: Gargoyle: Pull that up, replay, give me an analysis, all frequencies, spectrums...
(09:52:34 PM) dkap: Gargoyle is already flashing all that, on the screens, using the entire lab's diagnostic tools to his advantage.
(09:52:52 PM) dkap: And the only conclusion so far found is that ... well ... it did, actually happen.
(09:53:25 PM) dkap: Nothing seemed to be proximal or secondary cause, or effect. Nothing further seemed to move, when the Jager got closer or farther away.
(09:53:30 PM) Auricle: Gargoyle: Should it have happened?
(09:54:37 PM) dkap: Gargoyle: "There is no indication that this was supposed to happen, nor is there any obvious repeatability.
(09:54:58 PM) dkap: Gargoyle: "Going back in the data archive, the distances are not even constant on approach."
(09:55:29 PM) Auricle: GM: The Jager was wearing his hat?
(09:55:38 PM) dkap: Gargoyle: "This adds little to the correlation."
(09:55:51 PM) dkap: The Jager is still wearing his hat, yes.
(09:56:04 PM) dkap: And they both seem fine, but concerned.
(09:56:21 PM) dkap: There is now a paramedic out there helping Arachne trying to save the tech's life.
(09:57:42 PM) Auricle: Gargoyle: Have the Jager always had their hats on?
(09:58:02 PM) Auricle: to Arachne and the paramedic: "Is he going to live?"
(10:00:31 PM) dkap: Gargoyle: "No, and the data difference between a hatted and unhatted Jager, and various different Jager are also, to date, inconclusive. More data is needed to draw conclusions. (On screens as well as to Auricle.)
(10:00:50 PM) dkap: Paramedic "He's not going to die on _my_ watch."
(10:01:21 PM) Auricle: "Good. I don't want him to die."
(10:05:49 PM) dkap: The Paramedic has pulled his brain out of the brain-case, and has it in a jar, and is running down the hall with it.
(10:06:26 PM) dkap: Arachne has signaled another tech to _carefully_ pull the remains of his body out, and take it after the paramedic.
(10:06:37 PM) Auricle: "Jean, did you notice anything when the machine crumbled?"
(10:09:39 PM) dkap: Arachne looks back up ... sighs, and says "Right then ... we were going to see the new weapon, Boss?" In that tone that sounds like she's used to reminding you of what you were doing.
(10:10:24 PM) Auricle: "Jean?"
(10:12:37 PM) dkap: GM pokes Jean to see if he has fallen asleep at the keyboard.
(10:12:47 PM) arkhonII: Heh
(10:13:14 PM) Auricle: He did say earlier he wasn't feeling well.
(10:13:36 PM) arkhonII: *nod*
(10:13:53 PM) dkap: Ahh ... I missed that.
(10:13:56 PM) Auricle left the room (quit: Read error: Connection reset by peer).
(10:14:08 PM) dkap: And ... Poof, there goes Auricle ... *grin*
(10:14:27 PM) arkhonII: Dang.
(10:14:49 PM) arkhonII: And we're down to one.
(10:15:50 PM) Auricle [~chatzilla@pool-72-79-209-57.spfdma.east.verizon.net] entered the room.
(10:15:56 PM) arkhonII: Back!
(10:15:59 PM) Auricle: *sigh*
(10:16:09 PM) Auricle: Did we get Jean back?
(10:17:02 PM) dkap: Not as far as I can tell.
(10:17:20 PM) arkhonII: Doesn't appear to be.
(10:17:32 PM) Auricle: Drat, do you wanna run Caelin then?
(10:17:53 PM) arkhonII: *nod*
(10:18:19 PM) dkap: Well ... if he gets back ... that would work.
(10:18:42 PM) dkap: Right ... Caelin was about to go throw himself into a project that was tracing the leads back to Cassandra, right?
(10:18:54 PM) arkhonII: He was?
(10:19:08 PM) arkhonII: Caelin was in the hidey hole per Ilk's request.
(10:19:17 PM) arkhonII: A hook out of such though would be easy.
(10:19:32 PM) Auricle left the room (quit: Read error: Connection reset by peer).
(10:20:02 PM) dkap: You had ... if I recall, decided to start searching for traces back on the guy who's head is currently on Zorg's wall.
(10:20:09 PM) Auricle [~chatzilla@pool-72-79-209-57.spfdma.east.verizon.net] entered the room.
(10:20:21 PM) arkhonII: Hrm...checking...
(10:23:10 PM) Auricle: well, I think I'm still here, now.
(10:23:16 PM) Jean: I'm here
(10:23:18 PM) arkhonII: Yes, you are correct.
(10:23:20 PM) Jean: sorry
(10:23:21 PM) arkhonII: Aha
(10:23:42 PM) Jean: dkap: I didn't notice anything when the machine crumbled, right?
(10:23:57 PM) dkap: Nope.
(10:24:06 PM) dkap: You weren't even looking in that direction, Jean.
(10:24:10 PM) arkhonII: Ahh, I see, I was doing my research FROM the hidey hole.
(10:24:48 PM) Jean: response to auricle: "No, I didn't notice anything. If there's nothing detectable, that's interesting."
(10:24:54 PM) dkap: Well ... yes, but you had, according to my notes, decided to actually track the conenection personally, because, you couldn't quite tell, from remote, where the other end of the origin was.
(10:25:15 PM) Auricle: "That's what I was thinking, because, you know, there has to be *something*."
(10:25:56 PM) arkhonII: *sigh* Fine. I'll carefully leave the hidey hole and begin magical inspection there.
(10:26:18 PM) Jean: "Right. Generally, if there's nothing we can detect going on, in our experience it's a new power."
(10:26:26 PM) dkap: You, surprisingly, find no distractions, or detriments in going. Oh, and Natasha is _still_ not leaving your side for this one.
(10:26:56 PM) Jean: "It doesn't seem like a straight opposition like Pattern/Logrus, but there does seem to be interference."
(10:27:35 PM) arkhonII: Hee. I wouldn't have it any other way. Caelin is safer when she's around.
(10:27:45 PM) dkap: Jean, perhaps, similar to the interference to the multi-sided balanced powers?
(10:28:08 PM) dkap: *grin* A good choice. So, she is guarding your back, while you are magically tracing the gate.
(10:28:10 PM) Jean: Indeed.
(10:28:27 PM) dkap: And when you activate the trap in the gate, she leaps on you, before you can fully be pulled through it, so you both go together.
(10:28:51 PM) Auricle: "And the JAger shouldn't be creating any interference with anything. Especially with anything in my labs."
(10:29:03 PM) ***arkhonII curses. "nuts."
(10:30:14 PM) Jean: "They don't create any interference with what you do, but there is something about these experiments that they are interfering with. Or something they're wearing is, or some field or taint..."
(10:30:39 PM) Auricle: "Which isn't showing up on any analysis...
(10:30:49 PM) arkhonII: "Natasha...what all did you see as we were pulled through the gate trap?"
(10:31:07 PM) arkhonII: And what power is showing here at the new location? And where do we appear to be?
(10:32:03 PM) Jean: "That's fairly common. How are you at detecting Fringe, Bibliomancy, or Bronwyn-power?"
(10:32:08 PM) dkap: You are in a stone dungeon, there is magic, but very dim, your batteries are fine, there seems to be no one in your head annoying you, and Natasha is prying at the various stones and door connections with her sword.
(10:32:40 PM) Auricle: "Ummm." Checks with the Gargoyle.
(10:32:59 PM) dkap: Jean, on the word "Bronwyn" you feel a faint tingle of Pharaban-fear.
(10:33:59 PM) Jean: gm: that's new, isn't it?
(10:34:15 PM) dkap: Caelin, it's warm, and the air is not at all troublesome to breath. There is a sense of reality about, but not ... pattern that you are familiar with.
(10:34:29 PM) dkap: Jean, yes, it's new, and that's why I mentioned it.
(10:34:34 PM) dkap: Jean, it's an anomoly.
(10:34:58 PM) arkhonII: Is the dungeon at all familiar?
(10:35:41 PM) dkap: Caelin, Nope. It's still standing, for one thing.
(10:36:00 PM) arkhonII: No power of any kind perceptible in the walls?
(10:37:01 PM) Auricle: Gargoyle: Have I ever run into those powers before?
(10:38:20 PM) Jean: "Um. Let me test something."
(10:38:30 PM) Jean: "Bronwyn Brownyn Bronwyn."
(10:38:54 PM) Jean: gm: do I get the same feeling? does iit get stronger, weaker...
(10:40:15 PM) dkap: Caelin, just lots and lots of reality.
(10:40:45 PM) arkhonII: "Natasha, shall we take a look outside?"
(10:40:46 PM) dkap: Jean, the feeling rings every time you say her name. It's ... sort of like a continual build.
(10:40:52 PM) arkhonII: "Magically, that is..."
(10:40:59 PM) dkap: The taste of fear doesn't go away, and each time, it's the same increment larger.
(10:41:37 PM) dkap: Natasha signals you to hold on a minute ... and sticks her sword through one of the cracks on the door, a sharp, clean, even thrust.
(10:42:30 PM) Jean: "Hoo boy. There seems to be a problem. It may not be Amber-related or Jager-related, though."
(10:42:37 PM) Jean: "Do the Jager have any special relationship with fear?"
(10:43:34 PM) ***Auricle turns and looks at her Jager consideringly.
(10:43:46 PM) Auricle: "Well, they generally CAUSE it."
(10:44:03 PM) dkap: Caelin, there is a sound of a body falling, when she pulls back her sword, looks at you, and says "What were you saying dear? I just had to get rid of a nusence before we could continue."
(10:44:08 PM) Auricle: "Are you saying they made the experiment...afraid?"
(10:44:27 PM) Jean: "No, I'm saying that there may be a rogue power afoot, and that may have a relationship with Pharaban's power."
(10:44:35 PM) Jean: gm: any change in the fear after saying Pharaban's name?
(10:45:02 PM) arkhonII: "Huh. WHat...I mean, WHO, was it?"
(10:46:36 PM) dkap: Well ... there is no change in the level of fear, from the Bronwyn invocations, but ... well ... saying Pharaban's name always sends a shiver down your collective spine, because ... well ... he _might_ actually answer, or at least come and see who is using his name ...
(10:47:03 PM) dkap: Natasha says "I don't know ... yet. Would you open the door for me sweetie, so I can find out?"
(10:47:34 PM) Auricle: "This, I do not like."
(10:47:45 PM) arkhonII: Better yet, make the wall see-through. Completely transparent.
(10:48:26 PM) dkap: Caelin, it's ... umm ... pretty damn impossible to do so. The best you could do is a vision-only gate on both sides ...
(10:48:42 PM) arkhonII: Fine. Let's do that. Vision-only gate.
(10:48:51 PM) Auricle: to Arachne: "This building was pretty much empty when I left...where did you get all the equipment, if my Shadow-labs were destoyed? I know you salvaged some -- is this everything salvaged? Or...?"
(10:50:29 PM) dkap: Arachne: "This is everything salvaged, and some other things we commissioned to be made. That fellow Zorg, who came by to check us out when we started setting up was very helpful.
(10:51:10 PM) dkap: Caelin. You see a further wall, and a gentleman in Cassandra's colours and symbol lying on the floor with a perfect thrust, right through his heart.
(10:51:40 PM) Auricle: to Jean: "And Zorg was sent by your mother."
(10:51:42 PM) arkhonII: "Umm...dear...I think we may have killed a friendly. You remember Cassandra?"
(10:52:01 PM) Jean: "Hm."
(10:52:06 PM) Jean: gm: do I know where Flora is?
(10:53:10 PM) dkap: Natasha: "Yes, I remember Cassandra, but ... he was not acting like a friendly, transcribing everything you were saying ...
(10:53:51 PM) dkap: Jean, you are actually with Flora at the moment, you had found her to ask about the family tapistry, vis the head on the wall, and didn't have a reason to wander off.
(10:54:01 PM) ***arkhonII nods. "Okay...this is rather odd then. Why would a gentleman wearing her colors be spying on us?"
(10:54:17 PM) arkhonII: "You do know I used to be apprenticed to her, yes?"
(10:54:53 PM) Jean: "Mom? Did you send someone named 'Zorg' to help Deirdre?"
(10:57:12 PM) dkap: Natasha: "Yes, and I spent some time with her father."
(10:57:28 PM) arkhonII: 0.5% hold person pulse, in all directions, throughout the entire dungeon, exempting myself and Natasha. And maintain.
(10:58:08 PM) dkap: Flora: "I sent Mr. Zorg to help with the establishment of the new seat, I believe that meant to Auricle, my dear. Why, did Dierdre misplace him?"
(10:58:59 PM) dkap: Caelin, what would that do, besides just slow their reactions a bit? Or is that the .5% of your power that you are sending?
(10:59:00 PM) ***arkhonII blushes a touch, and fails to cover it.
(10:59:05 PM) Jean: "No, but after he helped Auricle's lab people set back up, their experiments are sometimes showing a sign of an anti-Jager power."
(10:59:15 PM) arkhonII: Yes, 0.5% of current reserves.
(10:59:32 PM) dkap: Flora: "The Jager have power?"
(10:59:47 PM) dkap: Caelin: You feel the power go out from you.
(10:59:52 PM) Jean: "Maybe. When they walk by certain experiments, one or both of them explodes or implodes."
(10:59:59 PM) Jean: "No one can detect anything."
(11:00:17 PM) Jean: "Oh, and I feel a bad fear when I say the name of the former head of the poisoner's guild. That's a bad thing."
(11:00:23 PM) arkhonII: Was it more power than I tried to send? Like a drain?
(11:01:46 PM) arkhonII: "alright, Natasha, I just sent out a mass 'hold person' pulse throughout the entire dungeon. I figure they kind of already know we're here, so...might as well attempt to freeze them all in their tracks."
(11:03:58 PM) dkap: Flora: "That's not a bad thing, necessarily. If you remember ... certain ... individuals took a strong dislike to the former head of the former guild."
(11:04:33 PM) dkap: Caelin, normal level of power. Natasha shakes her head, and mutters something about tipping hands.
(11:04:44 PM) Jean: "Oh, that does make sense."
(11:04:52 PM) Jean: "I hope it goes away after a while."
(11:05:03 PM) Jean: "Thanks, Mom."
(11:05:12 PM) Jean: to Auricle: "We can ask Zorg if he has any ideas."
(11:05:12 PM) arkhonII: (GM warning: now at 7% battery power for my phone)
(11:05:18 PM) arkhonII: Should hold for a while though.
(11:05:37 PM) Auricle: "Okay, let's do that."
(11:05:39 PM) dkap: Thanks for the warning, hopefully you will get power back at _some_ point.
(11:05:52 PM) ***Auricle turns and heads for the outside.
(11:05:58 PM) dkap: Arachne: "Boss, did you want to see the weapon?"
(11:06:18 PM) Jean: "Might be a good idea to sort out the boom boom first."
(11:06:26 PM) arkhonII: (Not tonight. I'll just head home and recharge once we're done with the run. Looks like they shut down things at the theatre once all is done)
(11:06:39 PM) ***Auricle pauses, turns around again. "Um, yes, but I'm worried that the Jager will blow it up."
(11:07:13 PM) arkhonII: (However, I will not be doing any more web browsing. I launched Firefox and noticed a drop from 13% to 7%)
(11:07:34 PM) arkhonII: (True, it was about 14 different pages at once. Next time I'll bring my adapter. ;-) )
(11:07:36 PM) dkap: Arachne, "Then ... leave the Jager here? Or I can bring it out to you, but ... I'd rather not tip our hand before we have to."
(11:07:56 PM) arkhonII: "Well, we shoudl get moving."
(11:08:18 PM) ***Auricle looks confused.
(11:08:29 PM) Auricle: "Why can't it just wait where it is til we get back?"
(11:08:49 PM) ***arkhonII magically gates the wall Natasha shoved her sword through elsewhere.
(11:11:49 PM) dkap: Natasha gestures towards your gate, not realizing it is vision only.
(11:12:04 PM) dkap: The wall doesn't move (and it was a crack in the door).
(11:12:29 PM) arkhonII: "Feh...VERY real place."
(11:12:36 PM) dkap: Arachne: "If you wish, it can. I was just proud of it, and wanted to show you ... just in case."
(11:12:46 PM) arkhonII: Physically open the door.
(11:14:18 PM) Auricle: "Arachne, I do want to see it. But I want to be sure the Jager won't accidently destroy it or more of the labs, first."
(11:14:29 PM) dkap: Caelin, it's locked, from the outside. How much force are you using?
(11:14:55 PM) arkhonII: Throw my back into it.
(11:15:05 PM) dkap: Arachne shrugs: "It's your lab to destroy."
(11:15:15 PM) arkhonII: A good 50% of my physical strength.
(11:15:36 PM) Auricle: "It's my *only* lab. I don't actually *want* to destroy it."
(11:16:08 PM) dkap: Arachne nods.
(11:16:21 PM) Jean: gm: am I where zorg is?
(11:16:41 PM) Auricle: "This isn't like before; before I didn't understand...well, how reality works."
(11:17:23 PM) dkap: He's in the parade, still going on outside.
(11:17:30 PM) dkap: (Zorg is)
(11:18:14 PM) dkap: Caelin, the door starts to groan, and when Natasha adds her efforts to yours, the door springs open. Only to riccoshet back and hit you as you take your first step through it.
(11:18:34 PM) dkap: Of course, being that you have taken your first step, it then bounds back open again, and Natasha catches it.
(11:18:34 PM) ***Jean will wait, then.
(11:18:44 PM) arkhonII: "Ow."
(11:19:23 PM) dkap: Arachne: "Boss, do you want me to accompany you, or shall I continue overseeing and working in the lab?"
(11:19:44 PM) Auricle: "Continue here. We'll be back."
(11:20:43 PM) dkap: Arachne nods, starts back into the lab calling for technicians to come out and clean up the experiment, as soon as the Jager are gone.
(11:21:04 PM) Auricle: "all right, let's find Zorg"
(11:21:38 PM) ***Auricle makes sure she has the Gargoyle and heads back outside.
(11:22:08 PM) ***Jean directs Auricle toward Zorg.
(11:22:46 PM) ***arkhonII walks forward, continues past the door.
(11:25:05 PM) Auricle: once outside, "Jean, are you a little worried about the insistance to see the weapon right away? Or am I the wrong kind of paranoid?"
(11:26:29 PM) dkap: Caelin, it's a corridor. Well lit, and fairly normal. Curving, not straight, but with little branches. If there are any other rooms, they must be on other floors.
(11:26:45 PM) arkhonII: Proceed forward.
(11:29:31 PM) Jean: "I think you're the right level of paranoid."
(11:29:35 PM) dkap: You manage to go around in a circle.
(11:29:56 PM) dkap: Only door. is the one you burst through.
(11:30:21 PM) Jean: "The bad reaction I was having to saying the name of the former head of the Poisoner's guild might be because she made some enemies, not because she's back. So that's just normally wrong, not special wrong."
(11:30:24 PM) dkap: No obvious entrances or exits. No windows.
(11:31:13 PM) arkhonII: "Great. Another trap."
(11:31:30 PM) arkhonII: "Meant for me to use magic to escape."
(11:32:21 PM) dkap: Not much ambient magic here ... depending on that, and not your batteries, you would never be able to. Thankfully, you have your batteries.
(11:32:43 PM) Auricle: "Damn, I forgot about the parade."
(11:34:03 PM) arkhonII: Is there any more noteworthy activity in my head? Presences apparent?
(11:34:12 PM) ***Jean shrugs and continues.
(11:34:42 PM) dkap: No activity in your head that you notice.
(11:35:55 PM) arkhonII: I think I still have one Fringe dagger that Osric granted me after I sacrificed one to get out of a Llewella trap.
(11:36:37 PM) dkap: You have a fringe dagger, and several crystals left from that.
(11:37:23 PM) arkhonII: "Dear, I forget, were you ever made Fringeworthy? Or were you Fringeworthy regardless?"
(11:37:44 PM) dkap: Natasha. "Nope."
(11:37:53 PM) dkap: Auricle, Jean, you catch up with the parade.
(11:38:13 PM) arkhonII: "Might you be able to use this dagger?"
(11:38:27 PM) ***arkhonII shows the dagger in his hand to Natasha.
(11:38:36 PM) Auricle: try to get Zorg's attention, which, when I can send an arm through the crowd and then grab him, isn't terribly hard.
(11:39:03 PM) dkap: Natasha takes the dagger flips it through several Kata, and say "It's got shitty balance, but I can do some damage with it."
(11:39:49 PM) dkap: Zorg, over the loud voice: "Ladies and Gentlmen, Auricle HERSELF!" and the crowd goes wild.
(11:39:59 PM) arkhonII: "If you can perceive a weak spot anywhere on this level, that dagger should be able to penetrate the stone."
(11:40:44 PM) ***Auricle retracts the arm looking a little...like she's completely used to crowds cheering for her, actually, they always used to in her old Shadows. She waves and smiles brightly.
(11:41:29 PM) dkap: Natasha: "Umm ... I'd suggest we wait and watch, because this guy would have needed food and bathroom breaks, and I didn't see any on our tour, so ... that should be our way out, with minimal destruction and attention-getting."
(11:41:52 PM) dkap: Yep, it's just like the old days, Auricle.
(11:42:02 PM) arkhonII: "OY...well...we have a few choices before us then..."
(11:42:36 PM) arkhonII: "I can surreptitiously dispell the hold person pulse and we can wait for the guards to come and try and overwhelm us..."
(11:42:41 PM) arkhonII: "Or...
(11:42:55 PM) arkhonII: "I can try and use my magic and break us out."
(11:43:00 PM) arkhonII: "Or..."
(11:43:10 PM) arkhonII: "No...that's all the options I see."
(11:44:02 PM) dkap: Natasha: Or, we can wait, in a non-obvious place, and surprise them, and perhaps, be able to take some prisoners, so we can get information, and hostages."
(11:44:18 PM) arkhonII: "Works for me."
(11:47:03 PM) dkap: Natasha: Good good. So, I'm going to go over here, and I want you to be halfway around the tower from me. That way we can have maximum surprise.
(11:47:26 PM) arkhonII: "Sounds like a plan. Let's do it."
(11:47:30 PM) dkap: And I'm noticing it's about midnight, and ... we could go forward, but this is probably a good place to hang everyone.
(11:47:38 PM) Auricle: Oh, goodness.
(11:47:43 PM) Auricle: Yeah, we can hang here.
(11:47:51 PM) Jean: sure
(11:47:53 PM) Auricle: Bye everyone!
(11:47:57 PM) Auricle left the room (quit: Quit: Chatzilla 0.9.77 [SeaMonkey 1.0.1/2006040400]).
(11:47:58 PM) Jean: night!
(11:47:59 PM) Jean left the room (quit: Quit: Leaving.).
(11:48:05 PM) arkhonII: Good night!
(11:48:10 PM) arkhonII left the room (quit: EOF from client).
