(08:37:29 PM) Cagliostro: we have gm sign
(08:39:22 PM) mode (+o dkap) by ChanServ
(08:39:35 PM) dkap: Sorry about that.
(08:39:47 PM) dkap: House guest this week, and she was ... delayed getting through customs.
(08:39:55 PM) dkap: But we are now all here, and safe.
(08:40:26 PM) Caelin: I don't have very long, sadly. rehearsal tonight at 6PM.
(08:40:37 PM) dkap: Ahh ... and it's what time, now?
(08:43:13 PM) Cagliostro: almost a quarter till 6, left coast time.
(08:43:18 PM) Cagliostro: so about 15 minutes
(08:43:29 PM) Caelin: ayup.
(08:44:36 PM) Caelin: Sorry. :-/
(08:45:08 PM) dkap: Not a problem. I can type really fast.
(08:45:17 PM) Delna: speed game!
(08:45:19 PM) dkap: So fast that the last three sentences didn't get sent, apparently.
(08:45:25 PM) dkap: Oh wait. There's one.
(08:45:37 PM) dkap: So right, noshittherewewere.
(08:47:41 PM) dkap: Were were we? You were dealing with the clone-factory, right?
(08:50:13 PM) Delna: I remember that the wolves and vamps were on a truce and we were trying to get the pups somewhere else
(08:50:24 PM) Spot [~chatzilla@c-71-233-204-173.hsd1.ma.comcast.net] entered the room.
(08:50:30 PM) Spot: Sorry!
(08:50:52 PM) dkap: Right ... That's where we were.
(08:50:58 PM) dkap: See ... spot, right on cue.
(08:51:10 PM) dkap: And the Nos will be along, promptly.
(08:51:24 PM) ***Spot couldn't connect last week. :(
(08:53:02 PM) dkap: Last week was a wash, apparently.
(08:53:03 PM) Caelin: Alright. time to run off.
(08:53:14 PM) Caelin left the room (quit: Quit: 1.6.4).
(08:53:30 PM) dkap: Of course, I lost the logs from two weeks ago.
(08:54:45 PM) dkap: Right ... I believe the count was about to be called out, there was a place that was gated to, to discuss things, right?
(08:54:59 PM) Delna: yup
(08:55:18 PM) Cagliostro: yes
(08:55:51 PM) Delna: we had discussed and were going to find the count far as I remember
(08:55:53 PM) Cagliostro: the discussion had happened
(08:56:20 PM) Cagliostro: with the Count and his daughter, in the place of night-blooming flowers
(08:56:33 PM) Cagliostro: and everyone was planning on returning, to present the werewolves with options
(08:56:40 PM) dkap: Right, that's where we left off.
(08:57:25 PM) Cagliostro: so, presumably the three return: two that disappeared from here, and Count Cagliostro.
(08:58:21 PM) dkap: Right.
(08:58:31 PM) Cagliostro: who, for those who have not seen him, is of slightly less than average height, balding, with a pronounced nose and slighlty out of shape. He is wearing an outfit that seems halfway between a suit and a Napoleonic-era noble's costume, and seems to have a fondness for gems and jewelry.
(08:58:42 PM) Cagliostro: expensive-looking, but fairly tasteful.
(08:59:17 PM) Cagliostro: He will appear and bow politely to the werewolves, and acknowledge the vampires again.
(08:59:24 PM) ***Spot ponders eating the count. Tasty. Oh, wait, you said tasteful, NM.
(08:59:47 PM) Cagliostro: "I am the Count Cagliostro, and I have been asked to find a place for refugees in this world, where we ourselves are refugees."
(09:01:01 PM) Cagliostro: "I know very little about you, but I have prepared two potential places for settlement. One is a small city near a mountainous area to the north of this continent; the other is a much more isolated area that is on the edge of a protacted civil war, and is suffering from poaching and various environmental depradations."
(09:01:50 PM) Cagliostro: "It is my hope that one of these options will be acceptable to each of you," indicating the werewolves, "and that you will reach a reasonable arrangement with the current population."
(09:02:27 PM) Cagliostro: "However, it is possible that I am not in possession of key information, so we should discuss the matter and resolve any potential issues."
(09:02:34 PM) Cagliostro: (gm: there is no moon in Darkover, correct?)
(09:03:26 PM) dkap: Several moons, but mostly unregarded, because the suns are always out.
(09:04:03 PM) Cagliostro: are the moons ever visible, even when the suns are blocked?
(09:04:09 PM) dkap: And there are no moons for your area, although, if you wanted to make something on the black rotaty-things that block out the sun, that would diminish, but reflect the light ...
(09:04:24 PM) dkap: No, because what blocks the suns is lower than the moons.
(09:04:29 PM) Cagliostro: k, close enough.
(09:04:54 PM) Cagliostro: "For example, if there are moons in this place, they are not visible from our world. I do not know if this will pose a problem for you."
(09:05:15 PM) Spot: No moons?
(09:05:32 PM) ***Cagliostro looks apologetic.
(09:06:07 PM) ***Spot snarls.
(09:06:11 PM) Cagliostro: "I am actually not sure if there are moons are not. There are three suns, one of which is always up. I have placed wards in place to approximate a day/night cycle, but we have seen no moons."
(09:06:27 PM) Cagliostro: "I do not know whether there -are- no moons, or they are blocked by the residual light."
(09:08:37 PM) Spot: GM: Well, I'm a theurge, can I sense if there are moons?
(09:09:28 PM) dkap: Yes, there are moons. Three real, two artificial. You can feel their pull through the umbra, but ... the aren't the Moon. The Moon spirit actually lives in a tower, somewhere.
(09:09:55 PM) Spot: Heh.
(09:10:01 PM) Spot: There are moons.
(09:10:40 PM) Spot: Two of them are Weaver-tainted, though.
(09:13:36 PM) Cagliostro: "So the astronomical environment seems acceptable, then?"
(09:14:09 PM) Spot: Don't need night as long as there's moons.
(09:15:05 PM) Illuminaut [~penguingi@209-255-238-66.ip.mcleodusa.net] entered the room.
(09:15:11 PM) Cagliostro: "Excellent. Are there other requirements I should be aware of?"
(09:16:40 PM) ***Spot shrugs.
(09:18:11 PM) Cagliostro: gm: any comments from the rest of the peanut gallery?
(09:18:24 PM) dkap: (That's your cue, Illuminaut *grin*)
(09:18:54 PM) dkap: Oh, I mean, spot, you might want to find out if there are going to be other woofs settled there, or if you will have free reign or the like.
(09:18:59 PM) dkap: Food supplies.
(09:19:05 PM) dkap: What the state of the Weaver is.
(09:19:06 PM) dkap: ETc.
(09:19:32 PM) Spot: Yeah. What's to hunt? 'Sides all these leeches here?
(09:19:34 PM) Meiglan [~chatzilla@72.170.197.76] entered the room.
(09:19:38 PM) ***Spot grins toothily.
(09:20:00 PM) dkap: Right on queue.
(09:20:10 PM) dkap: Spot just said: Spot: Yeah. What's to hunt? 'Sides all these leeches here?
(09:20:39 PM) Cagliostro: "Ah. First, the sanguinarians resettled here are apparently the reason why your group was also settled here. So, they are not open for hunting."
(09:21:24 PM) Cagliostro: "There are not many wild animals larger than rabbits near the small city location. There is a great deal of wildlife near the other location, which is near mountains and old growth forest."
(09:21:26 PM) Spot: You enforcing that or are they?
(09:22:24 PM) Cagliostro: "I do not expect any problems to rise to the level where I need to become personally involved."
(09:22:48 PM) Cagliostro: "One group hunting the other could indeed rise to that level, which would be... unfortunate."
(09:23:45 PM) Spot: Define unfortunate.
(09:24:43 PM) Cagliostro: "How do you feel about deserts?"
(09:25:16 PM) Spot: Sand takes a while to get out of fur.
(09:25:28 PM) ***Cagliostro nods.
(09:25:56 PM) Spot: So?
(09:26:15 PM) Cagliostro: "The best case for unfortunate is exile in a desert larger than this world, surrounded by distressingly powerful foes. It goes down from there."
(09:26:27 PM) ***Cagliostro examines the recovering pwnzored werewolf.
(09:26:56 PM) Cagliostro: "Would it make you feel better if you had a few minutes to determine if you could affect me? It might save time."
(09:30:08 PM) Spot: GM: The hamster still here?
(09:30:14 PM) dkap: Yes.
(09:30:33 PM) Spot: Hey! Hamster! Who would win, you or him?
(09:31:02 PM) dkap: The hamster bows in Cagliostro's direction.
(09:31:35 PM) dkap: Eric: I believe that, were I to plot an attack for several years, I might be able to successfully win the encounter. Might.
(09:31:47 PM) ***Spot nods. "Thanks."
(09:32:05 PM) ***Cagliostro nods and politely acknowledges the complement.
(09:32:08 PM) Spot: to Cagliostro: I'll accept for the moment that you're one bad-ass dude.
(09:32:38 PM) Cagliostro: "but?"
(09:32:48 PM) Spot: Did I say but?
(09:33:00 PM) Cagliostro: "No, but people usually do."
(09:33:51 PM) ***Spot grins again.
(09:34:16 PM) ***Cagliostro nods.
(09:34:22 PM) Cagliostro: "Anyone else?"
(09:34:56 PM) dkap: The rest of the woofs look to spot for guidance.
(09:35:09 PM) dkap: Except for the no longer spurting one, who doesn't really look anywhere.
(09:35:25 PM) Spot: (He was healed, wasn't he?)
(09:36:17 PM) ***Spot grins wider.
(09:36:51 PM) Spot: I'm not after hunting bunnies and being a protector of the Wyld, mind you. Not really my thing.
(09:37:44 PM) Cagliostro: "What did you have in mind?"
(09:39:36 PM) dkap: He is being healed, but ... he is also still out, from the relieve that he wasn't going to die.
(09:40:30 PM) Spot: Well, I kinda the pretty, there.
(09:40:34 PM) ***Spot grins again.
(09:41:17 PM) Spot: (kinda like)
(09:42:09 PM) dkap: Guesturing toward Delna, no doubt.
(09:42:17 PM) Spot: yeah
(09:42:51 PM) ***Delna raises an eyebrow
(09:43:01 PM) Cagliostro: "I'm not sure I understand; what do you want?"
(09:43:29 PM) ***Spot laughs.
(09:43:35 PM) Spot: You don't get out much do you?
(09:44:02 PM) Cagliostro: "I've been out a lot recently, but I admit that I was wrapped up in a research project for the last few centuries."
(09:44:35 PM) Cagliostro: "I'm trying to narrow down your desire into a flash, food, fuck, or fight category."
(09:44:57 PM) Meiglan: awwww...he's asking you for a date...or something. *to Delna*
(09:45:02 PM) Spot: There's not really a lot of difference.
(09:45:36 PM) ***Cagliostro looks... disturbed.
(09:45:52 PM) ***Spot chalks up a mental win!
(09:48:16 PM) Cagliostro: "So."
(09:48:24 PM) ***Cagliostro gestures, and two magical gates open up.
(09:49:47 PM) Cagliostro: "Nearer the castle is a gate to outside a city to the north; farther from the castle is a gate to a vast forest farther to the east. There will be guides on the other side to help you acclimate. Choose."
(09:50:10 PM) Cagliostro: (gm: presuming that non-werewolf phobic guides are already set up with comm gear and plans in both areas.)
(09:50:31 PM) Spot: Why can't we just stay here?
(09:50:52 PM) dkap: (Cagliostro, yes, they are.)
(09:51:45 PM) Cagliostro: "I would prefer to avoid any conflicts between yourself and the sanguinarians. The final decision is, of course, theirs..."
(09:51:51 PM) ***Cagliostro looks at Delna for a verdict.
(09:51:54 PM) Spot: 'Sides one of my ...pack...here likes one your leeches.
(09:54:57 PM) Delna: "Well, my group has worked in tandem with wolves before...but circumstances were a bit different."
(09:57:33 PM) Delna: "The Nos's friend (uses name if character remembers) may not be a problem to keep around..but a full pack could cause a lot of problems for our settlement" *looks around to make sure there aren't any non-verbal objections to this idea*
(10:00:40 PM) Meiglan: *Isn't objecting to having the little furball around.*
(10:01:18 PM) Spot: See, you can't just take one, though. That hurts the pack. Our kind aren't meant to be alone.
(10:03:02 PM) Delna: "Why do you want to settle here? You hate our kind. Or is that the reason? So that you can keep the war going."
(10:04:01 PM) Spot: Conflict builds strength.
(10:04:53 PM) Spot: Without conflict -- stagnation.
(10:05:31 PM) Delna: "We chose this place to get away from the war, and the town we're settled next to can't support this kind of conflict"
(10:06:30 PM) ***Spot laughs.
(10:06:40 PM) ***Delna wonders if the pup has a point...balances of power and such...stews on this
(10:06:47 PM) Spot: So you can calcify. Sink into torpor out of sheer, unending, boredom.
(10:07:08 PM) Spot: Wake up in two centuries and find nothing...has....changed.
(10:07:21 PM) ***Spot watches Delna closely.
(10:07:30 PM) Spot: That sound fun, pretty?
(10:08:48 PM) Delna: "Better than endless bloodshed and another meaningless apocalypse. We still have plenty of conflict of our own to sort out. You've seen that."
(10:09:31 PM) Spot: Bah. Yer Alpha, they've all acknowledged it, or you wouldn't be talking and them so quiet.
(10:12:27 PM) ***Delna looks around to judge the desires of the others
(10:12:35 PM) Spot: That sound fun, pretty?0
(10:12:44 PM) Spot: woops
(10:12:50 PM) Spot: (sorry I have to go)
(10:13:07 PM) Meiglan: If we have them to fight with we won't fight among ourselves. Ditto for them, probably.
(10:15:42 PM) Meiglan: 'course, I'd bet it won't be all sweetness and light here, either. Might be time to talk truce, leastwise for a while.
(10:16:16 PM) ***Delna nods
(10:19:39 PM) Delna: "I need time to talk with the others. I don't like what you suggest, but my desires aren't the only ones that must be considered here."
(10:25:23 PM) Cagliostro: so we can find a place to store the werewolves that want to stay, and sort the rest into two groups?
(10:27:16 PM) dkap: That makes sense.
(10:27:31 PM) Cagliostro: most of the woofs want to relocate yes?
(10:27:41 PM) Delna: Is there a way to accommodate the wolves here?
(10:30:13 PM) Cagliostro: well, there are some other structures around, and other villages nearby.
(10:30:31 PM) Meiglan: *Refrains from making a comment about a Hotel for Dogs.*
(10:35:48 PM) dkap: Kennel, I believe they are called.
(10:39:20 PM) Delna: Will the world support the conflict? I'm not sure how many will want to be separated from the pack.
(10:40:12 PM) Cagliostro: there are about 70 wolves, I think
(10:40:34 PM) Delna: (ah, forgot there were so many)
(10:40:35 PM) dkap: Total. Here? About 7.
(10:41:21 PM) Cagliostro: the rest left, then?
(10:42:53 PM) dkap: The rest haven't arrived yet.
(10:44:18 PM) Cagliostro: oh, hm. I thought they had all been pushed over.
(10:44:28 PM) Cagliostro: then definitely to the holding area while we wait for more arrivals.
(10:45:23 PM) Illuminaut left the room (quit: Quit).
(10:46:27 PM) dkap: Got it.
(10:46:43 PM) Delna: More arrivals? Delna is not pleased by this idea..
(10:46:47 PM) dkap: And you might want to communicate with Dr. Eagleton to get them tranferred to the right coordinates.
(10:49:37 PM) Cagliostro: Is anyone in communication with the transport authority? Better to move them to a remote location next time than here. Say, the Urals location.
(10:53:49 PM) dkap: You could ask your daughter to be ...
(10:54:53 PM) Cagliostro: I'll check in general, and delegate to the first volunteer who is in contact with the transferral department
(10:56:49 PM) dkap: There was no volunteer in contact ... it would have to be forged.
(10:57:00 PM) dkap: And, as my clock points out, this would probably be a good place to wrap.
(10:58:44 PM) Spot: figures, just as I get back
(10:58:50 PM) Cagliostro: hm. probably a can of worms not worth opening, then.
(11:00:42 PM) dkap: Sorry, Spot.
(11:00:44 PM) dkap: *grin*
(11:00:52 PM) dkap: We could keep going for a touch, if you wish.
(11:01:03 PM) Spot: nyah I'm all right
(11:01:05 PM) dkap: I just need a biological break for a moment or two.
(11:01:12 PM) Spot: First of the month, insanely busy at work
(11:01:19 PM) Spot: I'm actually completely exhausted.
(11:01:25 PM) Meiglan: I need to get going, 5 am comes awefully early in the morning.
(11:02:27 PM) Delna: I think I need to give up the computer I'm using soon too
(11:03:21 PM) Meiglan: night all
(11:03:52 PM) Cagliostro: night all
(11:03:56 PM) dkap: Right, that's a wrap! Same time, next week!
(11:04:09 PM) dkap: And if anyone has a log from two weeks ago, I'd be appreciative.
(11:04:13 PM) Meiglan left the room (quit: Read error: EOF from client).
(11:04:14 PM) Cagliostro: already emailed
(11:04:19 PM) Spot: bye!
(11:04:20 PM) dkap: Thanks!
(11:04:22 PM) dkap: Bye!
(11:04:26 PM) Cagliostro left the room (quit: Quit: Leaving.).
(11:04:30 PM) Delna: night. Thanks!
(11:04:36 PM) Spot left the room.
(11:04:53 PM) Delna left the room (quit: Read error: EOF from client).
