(07:59:15 PM) Cagliostro: ahoyhoy
(08:00:23 PM) dkap: Yoo-halooo.
(08:03:20 PM) Auricle [~chatzilla@c-98-217-54-79.hsd1.ma.comcast.net] entered the room.
(08:03:51 PM) Auricle: Hello from the mostly recuperated!
(08:04:51 PM) Cagliostro: that's good to hear
(08:05:23 PM) dkap: Hello, mostly recouperated!
(08:05:28 PM) dkap: How goes the battle?
(08:05:46 PM) Auricle: I can't sit up for long, so I'm not great at typing after that point, but I'm much better
(08:06:47 PM) Auricle: good enough to at least watch game again
(08:06:52 PM) dkap: Excellent.
(08:06:53 PM) Auricle: not quite up yet to playing
(08:07:00 PM) dkap: We can hope for next week.
(08:07:28 PM) Cagliostro: sounds like progress.
(08:13:04 PM) Auricle: much progress
(08:14:16 PM) Mistress_Janice [~chatzilla@pool-108-20-74-103.bstnma.fios.verizon.net] entered the room.
(08:14:26 PM) Mistress_Janice: Hello, hello...
(08:14:27 PM) dkap: Indeed. And then there were 3.
(08:14:38 PM) Mistress_Janice: Not counting da GM.
(08:17:49 PM) Mistress_Janice: Let the killing begin!
(08:18:35 PM) dkap: Indeed.
(08:18:45 PM) Cagliostro: again? that trick never works...
(08:19:41 PM) Mistress_Janice: Well, sometimes it does...
(08:20:25 PM) Cagliostro: well, only if the jewel isn't involved
(08:21:03 PM) Auricle: I have that. somewhere
(08:21:18 PM) Mistress_Janice: Look in the couch, under the cushions.
(08:25:24 PM) Cagliostro: the couch cushions of which all others are merely shadows.
(08:25:47 PM) dkap: Actually, some of the stuff in the couch has _become_ shadow.
(08:26:37 PM) Auricle: That couch is not in my temple. it can be at the reflecting pool.
(08:28:28 PM) Mistress_Janice: And we are on message, as usual.
(08:29:03 PM) dkap: Indeed. No shit, there we were.
(08:29:37 PM) dkap: Chaos to the left of us, Amber to the right of us, one foot in shadow, the other, who knows where, and then, the ice-weasels come out.
(08:30:14 PM) Mistress_Janice: Get them, my ice weasels!
(08:31:38 PM) dkap: *grin*
(08:31:42 PM) dkap: So, where did we leave off?
(08:32:04 PM) Cagliostro: no idea.
(08:32:20 PM) Mistress_Janice: Dad was just asking Zach a question, I think...
(08:32:56 PM) dkap: Could be.
(08:34:28 PM) Mistress_Janice: Ah, yes. I had just proposed that all this might be a distraction, to prevent us from paying attention to whatever else was going on.
(08:34:48 PM) Mistress_Janice: And the Count had just said, "Good question. Zach?"
(08:35:19 PM) Mistress_Janice: Then I began foaming at the mouth, but I'm pretty sure that was OOC.
(08:35:56 PM) dkap: Ahh ...
(08:36:47 PM) dkap: I believe you were chasing the well-prepared runner.'
(08:37:18 PM) Mistress_Janice: The incredibly well-timed traps, the fortuitous problems... the rhino-kitty.
(08:37:30 PM) Cagliostro: yes, true
(08:37:32 PM) dkap: Indeed.
(08:37:48 PM) Cagliostro: and I'm curious how he's leaving the traps timed like that
(08:37:58 PM) Cagliostro: which does tend to indicate a potential distraction
(08:38:53 PM) ChanServ left the room (quit: *.net *.split).
(08:39:12 PM) ***Mistress_Janice ...didn't think that could happen.
(08:39:44 PM) dkap: Indeed, potential, but you notice he has the traps timed in threes ... some of them caught you on their first pass, some not.
(08:40:10 PM) ChanServ [ChanServ@Services.GameSurge.net] entered the room.
(08:40:10 PM) mode (+o ChanServ) by Prometheus.UK.EU.GameSurge.net
(08:41:05 PM) Cagliostro: so what is Zach's opinion?
(08:41:23 PM) Cagliostro: and is there any other route we can use to follow this person, or to trace for other scouts?
(08:45:52 PM) Mistress_Janice: ...and what of Auricle?
(08:46:39 PM) dkap: Auricle is observing this time around, by her own choice.
(08:46:53 PM) dkap: This is the only route you have, for you are following his shadow trail.
(08:47:03 PM) dkap: There weren't other scouts, if you remember the other one is dead.
(08:47:23 PM) dkap: Boom, hole in the loam.
(08:48:27 PM) Cagliostro: hole in the loam?
(08:48:47 PM) Cagliostro: but if there are other scouts, which we don't know about, we might be able to cast about for their trail somehow.
(08:48:48 PM) Mistress_Janice: Was that the one we found duelling with Elisabella?
(08:48:56 PM) Cagliostro: oh, right, him.
(08:49:05 PM) Cagliostro: yes, that was the first scout we found, the one duelling Elisabella
(08:49:19 PM) Cagliostro: what Cagliostro means is that there could be scouts other than the two that have crossed our path.
(08:49:32 PM) Cagliostro: hard to imagine an army that size with only two scouts.
(08:50:16 PM) dkap: And the second one might not have been a scout for that army. The one you are following now.
(08:50:31 PM) dkap: The one you saw, however, had the thorn-thrower.
(08:50:48 PM) ***Mistress_Janice goes on foaming at the mouth.
(08:51:41 PM) Cagliostro: huh. I suppose that's right, that there's no evidence so far to tie this guy to the army.
(08:51:44 PM) Cagliostro: how... frustrating.
(08:51:56 PM) Cagliostro: can Mistress Janice tell whether he's leaving the same type of trail?
(08:51:57 PM) dkap: You would have to catch up to him first, to see if there is evidence.
(08:52:08 PM) dkap: Although he seems more competent than the other.
(08:52:17 PM) dkap: It's a shadow trail.
(08:55:12 PM) Cagliostro: "Is there any way to tell if we're gaining on him?"
(08:55:31 PM) Cagliostro: although that would be more "closing the distance" from Cagliostro.
(08:56:31 PM) Mistress_Janice: Can I tell anything like that? Is the trail growing, for example, measurably fresher?
(08:57:51 PM) dkap: Not easy to tell.
(08:58:41 PM) dkap: The trail is fairly fresh.
(08:59:26 PM) Mistress_Janice: "Forgive me, Father, I can't tell."
(08:59:32 PM) dkap: And the person is traveling fairly fast (otherwise you would have caught them by now. You caught the other who had passed through the area of the battle, before the battle begain, and caught up with him, handily.)
(08:59:44 PM) Cagliostro: "Then let us continue, while considering alternatives."
(09:00:05 PM) dkap: The other had more than a day headstart, this person mere hours.
(09:00:36 PM) dkap: If they were moving at the same speed, you would have caught him where you got hit with the crossbow bolts.
(09:00:45 PM) dkap: (Well, your shields did.)
(09:02:57 PM) Mistress_Janice: Is it a simple matter of speed? Would mounts help?
(09:04:00 PM) dkap: No, you wouldn't be able to trace it much faster than you actually are.
(09:04:28 PM) dkap: Although, you do miss your motorbike.
(09:07:16 PM) Mistress_Janice: Yes, well, this is also rather forested if I recall.
(09:07:25 PM) Mistress_Janice: Onward, then.
(09:08:51 PM) dkap: It is. Picking fir trees out of your teeth might suck.
(09:08:54 PM) dkap: Onward you go.
(09:10:16 PM) dkap: You reach a section of the woods that is ... clearer that it should be, and the ground is somewhat more regularly set than nature would have made it.
(09:10:41 PM) Mistress_Janice: Heave a rock at it.
(09:10:51 PM) Cagliostro: how large is the section?
(09:11:14 PM) dkap: About 21" square.
(09:11:24 PM) Cagliostro: so, land mine sized
(09:11:34 PM) dkap: Indeed, land-mine sized.
(09:12:19 PM) dkap: You toss the rock, it lands, and a large snake-like creature breaks out of the egg, dripping something, probably poison from it's mouth, and impales it's teeth firmly into your wards, a good 8 feet in front of you.
(09:12:33 PM) Mistress_Janice: ...egg?
(09:12:43 PM) Cagliostro: "That was... not unexpected, exactly, but still surprising."
(09:12:44 PM) dkap: You hear a startled exclamation from up ahead.
(09:13:16 PM) dkap: It looked egg-like. Curved pieces of shell were cracked by your rock.
(09:13:17 PM) ***Cagliostro conjures something piggish of the appropriate size for the baby snake
(09:13:48 PM) dkap: Not really baby. Something about it seems to connote long-standing and successful predator.
(09:14:00 PM) Cagliostro: does it seem sapient?
(09:14:02 PM) dkap: It probably wasn't _it_'s egg.
(09:14:04 PM) dkap: Nope.
(09:14:07 PM) Cagliostro: and can we tell more about the explanation.
(09:14:10 PM) dkap: Well ... probably not.
(09:14:23 PM) Cagliostro: wrap it in a force bubble for now
(09:14:25 PM) Cagliostro: and continue?
(09:14:31 PM) Cagliostro: *exclamation
(09:14:40 PM) dkap: It doesn't seem to have noticed it's not on someone, it's trying to chew through.
(09:14:54 PM) Mistress_Janice: So the egg was buried to the top of its shell, and the rock cracked it open?
(09:15:04 PM) dkap: It sounded like a startled utterance from the throat of something with language.
(09:15:12 PM) dkap: Indeed, exactly.
(09:15:41 PM) Cagliostro: okay, so either not sapient or Republican
(09:15:47 PM) ***Mistress_Janice looks for the other two. Most everything in our way has been planted in threes.
(09:15:47 PM) Cagliostro: we shall continue
(09:16:02 PM) Cagliostro: the exclamation is probably a trap, but at least a -different- trap
(09:17:11 PM) dkap: You round the corner see a second patch like the first, and, a bit further along, a chandroid-esque being desperately, and carefully smoothing down the ground over a third patch.
(09:18:09 PM) ***Mistress_Janice reminds Father we want it alive. The last one killed itself rather effectively.
(09:18:17 PM) Cagliostro: "I have a plan."
(09:18:31 PM) Cagliostro: gm: I pop off his head.
(09:18:43 PM) Cagliostro: squeeze his neck between two wards
(09:19:57 PM) dkap: You sure?
(09:20:07 PM) Cagliostro: yeah.
(09:20:16 PM) Cagliostro: there are a number of ways that this could go badly.
(09:20:29 PM) Cagliostro: but I can apologize slash wipe memory for most of them
(09:20:39 PM) Cagliostro: but I want the brain disconnected and in a separate ward as soon as possible
(09:20:56 PM) ***Cagliostro has not known people who do not keep their brain in their heads, unlike Jean.
(09:21:01 PM) dkap: Right, his head pops right off his body, no resistance. His body falls back on the egg, breaking it, and the snake burrows into his body through his open neck, while chomping on it.
(09:21:08 PM) dkap: Acid, not venom apparently.
(09:21:42 PM) Mistress_Janice: We'll go around the second egg.
(09:22:09 PM) dkap: The snake makes short work of the body's internal organs, and then launches itself at your ward landing ... just to the left of the other one.
(09:22:11 PM) Cagliostro: focus on collecting the head, dkap
(09:22:23 PM) dkap: Second egg successfully detoured.
(09:22:36 PM) dkap: You can catch the head as it returns to earth, in a ... what?
(09:22:53 PM) Cagliostro: ward, if necessary
(09:23:12 PM) Cagliostro: or bag, if possible
(09:23:40 PM) Cagliostro: I want to create enough infrastructure to keep the head alive and conscious
(09:23:41 PM) Cagliostro: quickly
(09:23:47 PM) Cagliostro: and then start downloading the memories
(09:24:02 PM) Cagliostro: and I _really_ hope I didn't just decapitate the local snake charmer.
(09:24:49 PM) dkap: Then, how about that jar similar to the one you kept (damn, I forgot her name, Wash's wife, her) head in while you were rebuilding her body.
(09:25:47 PM) Cagliostro: Zoe
(09:25:50 PM) Cagliostro: sure
(09:25:57 PM) Cagliostro: even though that isn't what happened ;)
(09:26:18 PM) Cagliostro: she was in a full bacta tank. someone created a shell of the body, so that people wouldn't freak out looking at the torso.
(09:26:18 PM) dkap: Oh? Am I remembering incorrectly?
(09:26:25 PM) Cagliostro: but yeah, something like a small bacta tank.
(09:26:47 PM) Cagliostro: I forget what happened to the head of that guy woh attacked Amber. I forget who made his head self-sufficient.
(09:26:51 PM) Cagliostro: Auricle, I think.
(09:27:08 PM) Mistress_Janice: Is there any local sign of where he got the eggs? I mean, I can't believe he was just carrying all this stuff around with him...
(09:27:24 PM) Auricle: Me and Jean and someone else, we made him self-suffiecient and part of the security system
(09:28:22 PM) dkap: Right. I remember that, now. *grin*
(09:28:38 PM) dkap: *sigh* Too much history. But yes, you can "Head in a Jar" him.
(09:29:45 PM) Cagliostro: head in a jar, then download memories
(09:31:55 PM) dkap: The most recent memories are those of his "Traveling Uncle" who came through here, not that long ago, and told him to set up the eggs, and make himself scarce. He wanted to finish what he was doing, so put off the egg-setting for a bit, while he finished the touches on his latest invention, a bucket-cleaner.
(09:32:29 PM) Mistress_Janice: ARGH!
(09:32:31 PM) dkap: Of course, if you reach back through his memories of his "Traveling Uncle" they all match a different form and image, but he's sure that that was his "Traveling Uncle".
(09:32:48 PM) Mistress_Janice: ...see if I can pick up the trail again.
(09:33:02 PM) Cagliostro: gm: how long to fix the guy?
(09:33:19 PM) Cagliostro: probably longer than I want to do now.
(09:33:21 PM) Cagliostro: "Bother."
(09:33:23 PM) dkap: But the vision-memory is the same as the person who "was you" in the memory of the Ranger.
(09:33:48 PM) dkap: He isn't dead, you can restore him, and wipe his memory, later, if you wish.
(09:33:54 PM) Cagliostro: so, gm: knock the head unconscious, wipe the memory now.
(09:34:16 PM) Cagliostro: if I can restore him without slowing us down, I will, but if it'll take too much time, I'll bring the head with
(09:35:11 PM) dkap: It would probably be easier to bring the head with, or stash it somewhere local, with the equipment to bring it back to wholeness, eject him in the coma state, and then systematically destroy itself.
(09:35:22 PM) dkap: Probably easier to bring the head with, though.
(09:35:30 PM) dkap: As long as it's unconcious.
(09:35:37 PM) dkap: unconscious even.
(09:36:12 PM) Cagliostro: yeah, I'll bring the head with
(09:36:17 PM) Cagliostro: this place has acid snakes.
(09:36:24 PM) Cagliostro: and yes to the unconscious.
(09:36:34 PM) dkap: Good good.
(09:36:47 PM) dkap: Are you going to do anything with the second (and avoided) egg?
(09:36:58 PM) ***Cagliostro wasn't planning on it.
(09:37:14 PM) dkap: Oh, and in his memories, is lots of inventions not working, and very few people having faith in him.
(09:38:12 PM) Cagliostro: how depressing.
(09:38:25 PM) Cagliostro: I'll rifle through his memories some more, looking for more travelling uncle content.
(09:39:26 PM) dkap: His actual traveling uncle apparently traveled often mostly just before several young maidens gave birth to "miracle babies".
(09:42:24 PM) Cagliostro: ah, not the same uncle.
(09:43:03 PM) dkap: Although the most resent time, it was one of the "miracle babies" who was giving birth, and he had to move very quickly. He even left his favorite traveling clothing behind.
(09:43:06 PM) dkap: Nope.
(09:43:33 PM) Mistress_Janice: Been doing this for a while, I see.
(09:44:33 PM) ***Cagliostro follows Janice.
(09:44:52 PM) Cagliostro: "Yes, that did seem to be a false positive."
(09:46:27 PM) Mistress_Janice: "We should deal with the two snakes before we go. And perhaps the third."
(09:47:29 PM) Cagliostro: gm: are the snake eggs local?
(09:49:31 PM) dkap: Yes.
(09:50:19 PM) dkap: Although, they aren't natural. They are an "invention".
(09:50:48 PM) Cagliostro: hm. of the uncle, or of the nephew?
(09:52:00 PM) dkap: Neither, but one of the other family members.
(09:53:10 PM) Cagliostro: hm.
(09:53:41 PM) Cagliostro: "The snakes are a local problem - we should pursue our quarry before he makes more problems."
(09:54:35 PM) Mistress_Janice: GM, are they still trying to chew their way through the wards?
(09:55:08 PM) dkap: Yes.
(09:55:39 PM) Mistress_Janice: "I meant those - I'd rather not be carrying them somewhere else where they don't belong."
(09:55:53 PM) Cagliostro: "Oh, good point."
(09:56:29 PM) Cagliostro: gm: do a quick check of the snakes. figure out their physiology & intelligence level, at a basic approximation
(09:57:10 PM) dkap: Umm ... raw hunger and predatory, not much smarter than a rabbit, but not as smart as a weasel, dog, or cat.
(09:58:07 PM) Cagliostro: k.
(09:58:14 PM) Cagliostro: Can I find a way to keep them safely asleep?
(09:58:24 PM) dkap: They don't normally spit acid, only just before the mating season, the males will use it to eliminate potential suitors.
(09:58:35 PM) dkap: Put them in an egg? *grin*
(09:58:48 PM) dkap: Cold slows them down. Much cold will make them hibernate.
(09:58:51 PM) Cagliostro: sure, that would work.
(09:59:02 PM) Cagliostro: put them in chiller eggs then
(09:59:23 PM) dkap: The method for chilling them, and then egging them, is available from his memories.
(09:59:43 PM) dkap: And it works nine times out of ten for country bumpkins, you should have no problem with it.
(10:00:02 PM) Cagliostro: excellent
(10:00:15 PM) Cagliostro: I'll do that, and what the heck, I'll double back and pick up the third snake out of its egg
(10:00:20 PM) Cagliostro: third time's the eggy charm
(10:00:20 PM) dkap: Are you going to (gently) move the second egg?
(10:00:26 PM) Cagliostro: nah.
(10:00:35 PM) Cagliostro: just walk in front, get it to jump out and hit the wards, then egg chill it
(10:00:42 PM) dkap: Good good. All of them in your custom containers.
(10:00:43 PM) Cagliostro: and then we'll continue along, with three chilled eggs
(10:00:50 PM) Cagliostro: which Cagliostro will probably use at some point in the future.
(10:00:58 PM) dkap: Three unjugged chilled Rabbit-fish later ...
(10:01:03 PM) Mistress_Janice: Track, track, trackity track.
(10:01:17 PM) dkap: Or, at least, spread the rumor that your soul is kept in one of them, and see who goes for it?
(10:02:22 PM) Cagliostro: hmm... not really my style
(10:02:45 PM) dkap: True enough, you aren't Russian enough, more French in extraction.
(10:03:35 PM) dkap: So, with your Rhino-kitty, who stayed out of most of this mess quite nicely this time around, you go hippity-hopping along.
(10:04:09 PM) Mistress_Janice: We are not on hippity-hops. We determined mounts wouldn't help.
(10:06:01 PM) dkap: Right, wrong game. It's Ruth who has the Shuggoth-hippity-hop.
(10:06:28 PM) Cagliostro: so we continue on the shadow walk...
(10:06:31 PM) dkap: You continue down the path.
(10:06:46 PM) Mistress_Janice: "Did you determine how long ago he'd seen this 'travelling uncle'?"
(10:07:27 PM) dkap: And around the next bend or six you find a young man and a woman, the woman obviously seducing him. The strange thing is the woman has no back.
(10:07:38 PM) Cagliostro: gm: what's the time impression I have?
(10:07:42 PM) Cagliostro: that is unusual.
(10:07:55 PM) dkap: Earlier the same day, but ... he was working on his Invention, so he had lost track of time.
(10:08:18 PM) Cagliostro: "Sometime that day, I think."
(10:09:33 PM) ***Mistress_Janice whispers, "I doubt they're on the trail by chance. Shall we try to just slip by?"
(10:10:37 PM) ***Cagliostro shrugs.
(10:10:45 PM) Cagliostro: "One of them may be in some distress..."
(10:10:57 PM) Cagliostro: gm: does this seem to be some sort of evil fey soul-sucking situation?
(10:13:32 PM) dkap: Yes, indeed. Huldrafolk.
(10:16:34 PM) Cagliostro: "Bah. He seems to be leading us into distractions."
(10:16:41 PM) Cagliostro: gm: possible to bind the fey?
(10:16:48 PM) Cagliostro: it is me. Hopefully in a nice little bottle?
(10:17:09 PM) dkap: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Huldra
(10:19:04 PM) dkap: You would know of (and possibly just know) some of their line.
(10:22:00 PM) dkap: The Huldra are more likely to be on your side, than against you.
(10:22:07 PM) dkap: (As it were.)
(10:22:08 PM) Cagliostro: ah, okay
(10:22:26 PM) Cagliostro: in that case we'll walk slightly around, looking for traps
(10:22:32 PM) Cagliostro: if we are spotted, "Pardon me" and continue
(10:22:42 PM) dkap: Are you going to dip into either of their memories?
(10:23:58 PM) Cagliostro: if it won't slow me down, yes
(10:24:07 PM) Cagliostro: I presume that the man is not our target
(10:25:26 PM) dkap: You can dip into his ... his "old commander", who was just passing through, hundreds of miles away from where he should be advising the King, had ordered him to arm the balista-traps, but this lovely young "lady" seems to have distracted him.
(10:25:57 PM) dkap: Her memories? You aren't sure where to find them ....
(10:26:13 PM) Cagliostro: hm
(10:26:20 PM) Cagliostro: continue, then
(10:26:39 PM) Cagliostro: except to check the timing on the old commander
(10:27:07 PM) dkap: Approximately 4 hours ago.
(10:27:26 PM) dkap: (give or take a seduction ...)
(10:28:01 PM) Cagliostro: k...
(10:28:08 PM) Cagliostro: we continue
(10:33:18 PM) Cagliostro: or should we hang?
(10:33:39 PM) Mistress_Janice: We do seem slow.
(10:34:07 PM) Cagliostro: and I have an early day tomorrow.
(10:34:10 PM) Cagliostro: night!
(10:34:17 PM) dkap: We do.
(10:34:18 PM) Cagliostro left the room (quit: Quit: Leaving.).
(10:34:31 PM) Auricle: all right then, night!
(10:34:33 PM) Mistress_Janice: That was quick...
(10:34:35 PM) dkap: Apparently, we are hanging ... *grin*
(10:34:35 PM) Auricle left the room (quit: Quit: ChatZilla 0.9.86 [SeaMonkey 2.0.11/20101123124820]).
(10:34:42 PM) Mistress_Janice: G'night, Aur... right.
(10:34:49 PM) Mistress_Janice: Apparently.
(10:34:57 PM) ***Mistress_Janice goes back to foaming at the mouth.
(10:35:49 PM) Mistress_Janice left the room (quit: Quit: ChatZilla 0.9.86 [Firefox 3.6.13/20101203075014]).

(08:27:21 PM) mode (+o dkap) by ChanServ
(08:27:47 PM) Auricle: Eek a GM
(08:28:00 PM) Mistress_Janice: GET him!
(08:28:07 PM) dkap: Shit! Where?
(08:28:14 PM) dkap: Hide before she sees us!
(08:31:19 PM) dkap: So, no shit, there we were. Large jars before us.
(08:31:56 PM) Auricle: Which I am still, as last time, drumming and slicing open til we get them all
(08:32:16 PM) dkap: Indeed. And you were following a ... sequence? Dare I say Pattern?
(08:32:52 PM) dkap: You had found the dehydrated skeletons, and the like, right?
(08:34:37 PM) Auricle: yes, I was 'walking' the pattern to determine how to open them
(08:34:56 PM) Auricle: yes, some skeletons, once in a while some ppl of various definitions as I recall
(08:37:43 PM) dkap: The mummified amberoids?
(08:37:58 PM) dkap: The more fish-like skeletons, right?
(08:38:05 PM) Auricle: well we found a hampster and a weird spindly guy who were alive, at one point
(08:38:15 PM) Auricle: and fishlike skeletons
(08:38:25 PM) dkap: With the agony of their deaths very plainly written on their positions and their self-inflicted breakages, thrashing about for suitable air?
(08:38:35 PM) Auricle: but still no benedict
(08:38:36 PM) dkap: Yep.
(08:38:54 PM) dkap: And Martin, I believe.
(08:39:00 PM) Auricle: who is who we're looking for, although Auricle's a bit pissed off being stuck in a box where nothing works right and wants out.
(08:39:08 PM) Auricle: i thought martin was drumming
(08:39:14 PM) Auricle: and wants everyone out
(08:39:15 PM) dkap: He is, now.
(08:39:57 PM) Auricle: So, drumming, walking, and slicing
(08:40:06 PM) dkap: After a bunch of bottles, Gargoyle brings to your attention that you have, apparently, in your frustration, left a path inscribed ... and if that's not your intent, you might want to do something about it.
(08:47:15 PM) ***Auricle turns to look behind herself and sighs a little bit. "oops."
(08:49:39 PM) ***Auricle bends her will slightly to scoop up the power from the incision, which shouldn't be left lying around
(08:52:19 PM) dkap: The power flows back into you.
(08:53:27 PM) ***Auricle nods and goes back to walking, drumming and slicing, directing the gargoyle to remind her to scoop up the power along the way.
(08:54:49 PM) dkap: If you are laying power down, you could, perhaps, be doing something with it?
(08:56:04 PM) Auricle: I'm storing it in case the giant hand comes back again
(08:56:14 PM) Auricle: it stuck everyone back in their jars last time.
(08:56:36 PM) Auricle: if it doesn't come back, I might be able to gain enough power to port us out when I reach the 'center'
(08:56:50 PM) Auricle: I has plan
(08:58:28 PM) dkap: Indeed, and you are gathering the power by walking in the Patternish way.k
(09:02:47 PM) Cagliostro [~sgorton@c-66-31-32-142.hsd1.ma.comcast.net] entered the room.
(09:02:48 PM) Auricle: right
(09:02:55 PM) dkap: Greetings, good sir.
(09:02:59 PM) Auricle: hi hi
(09:03:00 PM) Cagliostro: hellos, all.
(09:04:17 PM) dkap: You are (miraculously?) not interrupted until you have generated (not gathered so much as generated, much like scuffing your feet on the rug in the wintertime ...) what you think might be sufficient power.
(09:04:38 PM) Auricle: Have I found Benedict?
(09:05:30 PM) dkap: Nope.
(09:05:46 PM) caelin [~arkhonii@m440536d0.tmodns.net] entered the room.
(09:05:51 PM) Mistress_Janice: Hello, hello!
(09:06:07 PM) dkap: Woot! It worked!
(09:06:12 PM) caelin: well, it's okay so long as I use my phone to connect..
(09:07:03 PM) Auricle: I'm going to keep going and try to find Benedict still hopefully.
(09:07:07 PM) dkap: Right.
(09:14:44 PM) caelin left the room (quit: Quit: 1.8.21).
(09:19:12 PM) Auricle: ...do I?
(09:19:14 PM) Auricle: lol
(09:20:12 PM) dkap: Not as to yet.
(09:20:29 PM) caelin [mibbit@c-76-102-37-66.hsd1.ca.comcast.net] entered the room.
(09:20:36 PM) caelin: AHH
(09:20:40 PM) caelin: Much better.
(09:20:43 PM) Auricle: Found anyone else interesting?
(09:21:28 PM) dkap: Not really.
(09:22:29 PM) dkap: Everyone else you've found has been remains.
(09:24:04 PM) Auricle: How many more bottles to go?
(09:24:27 PM) dkap: Gargoyle says all but two.
(09:24:41 PM) Auricle: Might as well finish them too
(09:26:52 PM) dkap: You've opened them all ... no Benedict.
(09:28:44 PM) caelin: oy
(09:29:46 PM) dkap: Which might explain why you've had the time to do your exploration.
(09:29:49 PM) dkap: *grin*
(09:30:53 PM) ***Auricle glares at the box.
(09:31:07 PM) Auricle: "That was not the way this should work."
(09:32:06 PM) ***Auricle looks at the Sword of State and then the people gathered up in the room. "I'm so done with being here. Let's see if we can get out now. Everyone join hands, paws, appendages, etc.
(09:35:16 PM) dkap: A moment, bio break.
(09:51:29 PM) dkap: Sorry about that. my stomach ... never mind.
(09:51:36 PM) Auricle: it's okay
(09:51:41 PM) Auricle: these things happen
(09:52:00 PM) dkap: Everyone joins hands.
(09:53:56 PM) ***Auricle grabs the hand of Zach, not leaving him here, and teeports everyone back to the forest where the battle had been going on.
(09:54:33 PM) dkap: And everyone is still holding hands.
(09:54:48 PM) dkap: (And somewhere in there Zach disappeared ... so he's not even there ...)
(09:55:55 PM) Auricle: how?
(09:56:08 PM) Auricle: he'd been trapped in here with the rest of us
(09:56:23 PM) Cagliostro: I didn't recall Zach ever being there
(09:56:25 PM) Cagliostro: Martin, yes
(09:56:28 PM) Auricle: omg
(09:56:34 PM) Auricle: I *know* Zach was here
(09:56:40 PM) Auricle: Auricle went after ZACH
(09:56:48 PM) dkap: She did.
(09:56:51 PM) Auricle: Auricle thinks he can't survive without him
(09:57:00 PM) Auricle: he gets lost and she always has to rescue him
(09:57:38 PM) dkap: Indeed.
(09:58:46 PM) Auricle: And Auricle would have freaked if he'd disappeared
(10:01:55 PM) dkap: And you noticed just now.
(10:02:16 PM) dkap: Hence the freaking, now
(10:03:18 PM) ***Auricle looks around at everyone. "Where is Zach????"
(10:04:20 PM) dkap: Martin raises his hand (shared by the tall, skinny one).
(10:05:14 PM) dkap: Bleah ... my stomach is still unhappy with me ... I'll be back in a few.
(10:17:49 PM) dkap: Right, then ... Martin raises his hand (shared by the tall, skinny one).
(10:18:08 PM) Auricle: "Yes....?"
(10:19:43 PM) dkap: Martin: "Umm ... it looked like he trumped out, a bit ago."
(10:20:10 PM) dkap: Martin: "Yes, I know, trumps aren't working at the moment, but ..."
(10:20:20 PM) dkap: Martin: "That's what it looked like."
(10:20:56 PM) Auricle: "who trumped him??"
(10:23:34 PM) dkap: Martin, after a moment, shrugs.
(10:24:41 PM) ***Auricle reaches out, grabs the hand of the nearest person, and teleports everyone to where the battle had been, muttering, "He can even get lost when he's trapped in a box."
(10:26:20 PM) dkap: And you are still, standing in the jar-room.
(10:28:17 PM) Auricle: "Oh for.....something."
(10:28:36 PM) Auricle: "That should have worked."
(10:36:56 PM) Auricle: Gargoyle: Analysis, how could trump get in but not out?
(10:38:32 PM) dkap: Gargoyle: Insufficient information.
(10:42:08 PM) Auricle: Can you analyze the power reading when he disappeared?
(10:45:34 PM) dkap: Displays the power reading, with the little. tiny dip in it when he disappeared.
(10:46:49 PM) Auricle: All right, I, Kris, need to think about this, swap to someone else
(10:48:28 PM) dkap: Right. Meanwhile, somewhere else in what passes for reality ...
(10:51:18 PM) Mistress_Janice: We are dining on the remains of the last character to attempt to enter the game.
(10:51:38 PM) dkap: What?
(10:53:27 PM) ***Mistress_Janice wipes her mouth. "Oh, nothing."
(10:54:04 PM) dkap: Poor Steph
(10:54:50 PM) Mistress_Janice: Damn, last logs not up. And train-wreck's cert is apparently out of date as well.
(10:56:20 PM) dkap: Bleah, I'll have to renew that.
(11:00:12 PM) Mistress_Janice: We had defused a few more traps.
(11:00:17 PM) Mistress_Janice: Tracking, tracking...
(11:05:43 PM) dkap: Not sure where you were.
(11:05:48 PM) dkap: Did you meet the huldra?
(11:06:12 PM) dkap: I'm pretty sure you met the rhino-kitty, yes?
(11:06:33 PM) caelin: Which one is the rhino-kitty shaum?
(11:06:55 PM) dkap: Not a shaum, just a rhino-kitty.
(11:07:05 PM) caelin: Ahh.
(11:07:35 PM) dkap: Outer skin like rhino, face like cat. Loyalty like ... well ... not so bright cat.
(11:08:07 PM) Mistress_Janice: We met the kitty a few weeks ago. We met the Huldra last week.
(11:08:49 PM) dkap: Right ... did we end at the huldra?
(11:08:58 PM) dkap: Which means, you passed the snakes.
(11:09:21 PM) caelin: Beats the shaum. Too g*ddamn smart for their own good. Hunter still owes me !@#$%^&* three limbs.
(11:09:37 PM) dkap: *grin*
(11:09:52 PM) Mistress_Janice: Yes, Father now has some snakes with him. Nasty acid things.
(11:11:32 PM) dkap: So, IIRC you were just about to interface with the huldra and the boy, right?
(11:11:54 PM) dkap: You had gotten memories of the boy, and his Old Captain right?
(11:12:16 PM) Mistress_Janice: That was all Daddy.
(11:12:27 PM) Mistress_Janice: Cagliostro?
(11:12:36 PM) Mistress_Janice: On in five, Count.
(11:14:11 PM) dkap: I think he may have swapped out.
(11:14:19 PM) dkap: And being it's after 11, I'm not surprised.
(11:14:20 PM) dkap: *sigh*
(11:14:27 PM) Mistress_Janice: Then I'd suggest you get up with Caelin?
(11:14:32 PM) Mistress_Janice: Or are we callin' it?
(11:15:50 PM) dkap: I think we should stick a flag in it, and claim it as ours.
(11:16:04 PM) Auricle: OURS!
(11:16:09 PM) dkap: I'm going to have to take another bio break in a minute or so, anyway ...
(11:16:12 PM) ***Auricle plants a flag, then eats it.
(11:16:19 PM) dkap: Yay eating it.
(11:16:32 PM) dkap: Or to quote Eddy Izzard ... "Did you bring a flag?"
(11:16:40 PM) Auricle: I eated it.
(11:16:51 PM) Auricle: night!
(11:17:13 PM) dkap: Good night!
(11:17:19 PM) Auricle left the room (quit: Quit: ChatZilla 0.9.86 [SeaMonkey 2.0.11/20101123124820]).
(11:17:24 PM) Cagliostro: yes, swapped out
(11:17:26 PM) Cagliostro: night!
(11:17:38 PM) Cagliostro left the room.
(11:20:00 PM) Mistress_Janice: All right, g'night!
(11:20:04 PM) Mistress_Janice left the room (quit: Quit: ChatZilla 0.9.86 [Firefox 3.6.13/20101203075014]).
